The AMD Driver Thread

If AMD are happy it's ready for release, and users are reporting it's good, I couldn't care less if someone at Microsoft has waved an electronic rubber stamp at it or not. Each to their own. :)

I agree 100% I'm often reading people posting they wont use beta drivers or non-WHQL releases because they're scared of the drivers as if they might contain some kind of digital plague.

While you're in Safe Mode, run DDU. Then do a clean install in windows.

Tried this but still no luck. Thanks for the reply though.

Edit: to clarify if I do this I still get the crash. If I do a clean install with the previous driver (non-beta) it works. When I get a black screen I still get the cursor.

Anyone having problems with Raptr today? I can't log on with the app - "Unable to contact Raptr.com Please check your Internet connection and try again".

I've change my username or password it instead tells me the username/password is wrong. And I can log into the website with my credentials.

I've rebooted. Re-installed it (as Administrator). Disabled firewalls and AVG... No change...

It is simply a problem with ratpr.com?

Known issues that they refuse to fix.. It boggles my mind if your IP address has changed since last time you was able to log in to the app then good luck trying to log in again.

Been reported so much they refused to listen.

As per the above video, I'm getting some extreme flickering on my R9 290. This happens mostly on the desktop, but also to a lesser extend in web browsers (And not at all in games). Moving the mouse causes the issue mostly, though only on the main monitor, but even just opening the start menu with my keyboard causes it, though to a far lesser extent. It's a Powercolor 4Gb 290, stock clocks and never attempted overclocking.

I've got an Asus Freesync monitor on the left running 2560x1440 and a HannsG running 1920x1200 on the right. As you can see, only the main freesync monitor has the issue, it's had it for a while but over the last couple of days it's gotten far worse. Anyone know anything about this issue and if there's anything I can do to fix it? I'm running 16.9.1, though just got a popup that 16.9.2 is available so I'm going to try that, though since it's such a long standing issue, I don't hold much hope.

I had the major update week(s) ago and Raptr was working fine yesterday...

I did update to the latest video drivers yesterday!? What would that have to do with login on though?

Honestly this isn't a driver issue. I reported this month's ago even got it fixed by a mod on the raptr forums to remove the IP address from my account linked to my email.. Couple days later sky auto changed my IP address and I couldn't no longer log back in.
It's been reported countless times it needs fixing but they seems to just ignore it..
In the end I just given up trying to log in and just use the software for recording only.

I have since moved on from raptr it's a waste of time. Amd need to bring there own software.
For now if you want excellent GPU encoding OBS Studio supports AMD GPU and is free or if you want even better package that cost money I highly recommend Action.

I've had that on my 290x and it turned out it was the card dying.

try running one monitor, see if it still happens

^ The FreeSync flickerings a driver issue, have to roll back to the last set that didn't do it, unfortunately, i don't know which ones they are, as im still on the 16.3 hotfixes.

Unfortunately I've had the issue at least a year, just not this bad before. Since it's mainly been on the desktop, and I don't spend too much time there, I just kinda ignored it and assumed it would get fixed in a future driver :o

Guess that's not happening?

Thanks for the heads up!

I've raised a ticket... So we'll see what they say.

TBH, Im counting the days till I jump ship to an NVidia 1070. AMD just seems to be one issue after another after another...
