The AMD Driver Thread

I've been flicker/corruption free on multiple monitors with my 390 since 16.12.2. Running 17.1.2 now with no mem downclock or flicker.

That said, my 2 monitors are both 60Hz, and I did perform a Windows reset before I tried 16.12.2. Would be a bit much if people have to re-install Windows to fix it.

Additional Settings dont even show up for me with these latest drivers.. right click desktop shows the option but doesnt bring it up and the option in Crimson settings has vanished..

Good job AMD.. and still no gamma sliders etc. Im one more step closer to going green.

Jeez.

Gone back to 17.1.1.. cba with trying newer drivers when these were working fine (minus the sliders but we gotta dream on to get those back).

I am still using 16.11.3, as I am waiting and hopeing the brightness ect sliders will return.. But now everytime I run the ms update in windows 10, it's updates the ati driver and I cannot find a way to stop windows 10 updating the device drivers... Any ideas guys?

Right click This PC > Adavanced System Settings > Hardware Tab > Device installation Settings > check the 'No' option.. this stops Windows auto updating for me at least.

Thanks, that was my first idea, but no windows 10 still updated the ati driver, but I think I have just sorted it. I have used the "ms show or hade updates" tool and it has actully worked, bingo. It searches for updates and you just select the ones you dont want windows installing... how long it will work for, who knows.

I decided to test Relive's recording ability earlier running the standalone mod STALKER Call of Chernobyl, I'm running the game at 3440x1440 in DX11 with max'd settings, The Wild Territory map usally gives an fps of around 160, While recording it was still reading at 150+ which is great, Fraps in comparison tends to force a 30 or 60 fps limit on me, Hence why I gave up doing Stalker video's.
AMD have done a great job with their shadowplay competitor.

Had similar issue last year and the xl2730z had popped......

Well i tried the 17.1.2 for the Ghost recon wildlands game and freesync is yet again broken over HDMI. The game also runs like garbage what i think that one is on ubisoft if you are to believe the forums. Getting tired HDMI freesync being so god **** broken and a mess. If i revert to the trusty old 16.9.2 freesync over hdmi is yet again working even for GR:Wildlands. FIX YOUR **** AMD!

AMD aside, what makes you think this is AMDs fault alone? Am sure they is much more too it than just AMD Fix your etc
This being another Ubisoft title tells me they is much more going on that what we might think.
Hell even a quick Reddit search brings up Gsync issues in Ubisoft games.

Its also been reported that games need to support these features for it too work, For example Windows 10 store games.

Am in now way trying to stick up for AMD here just for the sake of it, all I saying is just open up and look at the bigger picture because they is clearly more going on that just pointing the finger at amd.

What happens if you run the games in borderless full screen does that new freesync borderless work? From what I am reading the Full screen option that Unisoft provide isn't True Full screen. Have you tried disabling Uplay Overlay?

Explain why HDMI freesync is always working in driver version 16.9.2 but is messed up in every single release since?

Borderless freesync does not work at all for me in the games ive tried so far with the relive drivers but funny enough it works for the division with driver 16.9.2 even though it should not. again wth is going on here? Its pretty clear from a google search that HDMI freesync is having issues where as DP freesync seems to have many fewer issues.

Raw performance numbers has been great so fare on my rx 480 so any performance related issues in ubisoft titles is most likely due to ubisoft themselves but i highly doubt freesync messing up is their fault because then it shouldnt work in any driver version which clearly is not the case.

Vailed point I forgot you said it works on older driver version.
I have no idea what is going on then, why just ubisoft titles though? What do they do differently that other games don't? Strange

Can you try disabling uplay overlay?

yeah tried disabling the overlay.. Its not just ubi titles. Conan exiles, a funcom title, is also affected by no HDMI freesync if i use the latest drivers. If i go back to 16.9.2 it works..
