The AMD Driver Thread

OK, so I'm using 17.4.3 with a 290X.
If I enable Wattman and turn on Chill in Global I would expect it to appear as an option in the profiles for the compatible games, but it's not.
What am I doing wrong, any idea?

Dont know it works for me

Well for some reason, AMD seems to be crashing non stop today....

And this is on the holy grail of drivers, 16.11.5. Not a single thing has changed since yesterday so no idea why all of a sudden this is happening..... Guess it's time to do another driver reinstall....

Have you got this creator update people go on about?

Also am I right in presuming it's not yet on general release?

I tried to check if I have it yesterday and it seems not so maybe if you have that's the problem, after all it is meant to be messing with gaming software.

Nope, tried the creators update and had some issues so rolled back a while ago.

Even before the creators update, I have had this happen every now and then, very odd issue how it just starts to happen out of the blue.

Am using the creators update from Microsoft. The updated rolled out last month on the 5th for everyone I believe I auto updated mine couple days before release.

I keep getting: DirectX function "FindClosestMatchingMode" failed with E_Fail. If I delete BF1 pref data I can load the game but cannot set the res as the list is empty. Only way to fix this is to do a clean install of the GPU driver. Some games dont have pref files so they just crash.

I'm on 17.4.3.
I'm looking to enable it on Overwatch and Dota 2, but also tried CS:GO.

First you enable Chill in the global profile in wattman and when its enabled and you have pressed apply you go into the game specific profile in wattman and set the target fps numbers under the Chill option. Don't worry it have had me fooled as well.

After you enable them in Wattman global you are going into the profile wattman again yes?

This is what I'm trying to do, but when I go into game specific profile there's nothing to set, no Chill option no FPS option the last setting in there is temperature.

I just tossed the radeon settings and replaced it with the omega driver's Catalyst control center. Funny thing it loads just as fast as Radeon settings and I have my beloved colour and gamma/contrast/brightness options back not to mention its easier to navigate as there are no silly animations. So running 17.5.1 but with 14.12's control panel and its working great. The only option I am missing is Chill but I do not care about that.
