The AMD Driver Thread

anyway to overide the card limits on big navi? my card is maxed on everything and its begging for more... i see people pushing them higher than you can in the amd panel, what are people using to do that? haven't dug into it at all.

Which AMD card do you have?

I suppose you're limited by the software and power limits max.

What limit is not high enough?

Because due to the current GPU situation we have right now I ended up getting stuck with an RTX 3070 and while the performance level is fine the driver package itself is dreadful. I cannot stress how much I hate GFE.
Isn't GeForce Experience optional? It always was on my 1070ti, and it was always a hard nope whenever it wanted to be installed!

My 6800XT seems to no longer want to switch between monitors by pressing Win + P. It will do it if I go to display settings but makes a big fuss about it with lots of screen flickering and disconnect / reconnect sounds. Has anyone else experienced that

3000Mhz core clock is plenty. Memory granted, and power limit. However with MPT the power limit is a non issue.
not sure what you mean but the 6800 wont let me oc to 3000 unless you know something i dont? what im asking is, is there a tool to bypass the amd driver limits? im suggesting the card has way more left in it that the driver allows and would like to test it if possible. (2600 is max in the amd panel, i reckon this thing can easily reach 2800+)

Ah my bad I thought you had a 6900 XT. Granted on the core clock too then.

I seem to have lost my SAM performance again. It was working last week and I haven't done anything that should effect it. It all appears as if its on in the bios but I just ran the AC Valhalla benchmark and I'm back down to non-SAM enabled scores after installing the drivers so wondering if this is just a co-incidence or not. I'll maybe try rolling back tomorrow and test. Can anyone confirm if their still getting the SAM boosted performance since updating to the latest drivers?

UPDATE: Rolled back to 21.2.3 but I've still lost my SAM performance. :(

Looks like there is a small perf improvement on RT too with the last driver, i've seen some guys saying they gained a couple of FPS in Quake 2. It doesn't sound like much but it is like 4-5% and maybe there is more coming out.
