The AMD Driver Thread

Am i missing something?

Isn't that a complete lie? Freesync is not here...

AMD's trolling.
I can't tell if they're trolling themselves or us though.

I would, this long wait is not the norm. Am I a little frustrated that I cant use crossfire on some titles I would like to play, of course I am but not to the extent where I feel AMD are deliberately taking the **** out of us.

I want the drivers as much as everyone else but something has clearly come up that is forcing their hand to withhold the drivers for now.

Just chillax! :)

I'm with rick :)

Really? AMD strike me as a company who have no idea what they are doing, there is nobody with any common sense at the helm, they talk of the almighty upcoming 390X, the benefits of freesync, yet they completely fail with the basics, DRIVERS!!!

Games that were released 4 months ago have no cf profiles, chillax you say?

I paid almost £600 for a dual GPU card that is no better than a standard 290X in most new games.

I have been sold a product that is unfit for purpose, Nvidia must be rolling on the floor laughing right now, I know one thing for certain, I will NEVER buy another AMD card.

Well I now know who bennyboy and martini are, your facebook posts on that AMD post are near enough identical to the ones posted here :D

It's not unfit for purpose, take the other one out and that will work fine :D

Well I paid £700 for mine and I'm happy with it. Don't mind upgrading either provided we get given a card that way outperforms it or if I feel I need double the memory for gta5 or the witcher 3.

Saying you'll never use AMD again is just laughable because you will if they bring out something better than nvidia because that's the way us enthusiasts work. Heck if nvidia made something I felt I needed to buy to improve my performance I'd buy it but TitanX isn't good enough - it's nothing on my 295x2 for framerates and costs more.

I'm with Rick as well. Yup, it's frustrating when a new release doesn't work properly on both GPUs at launch day, but I've seen it too many times from both sides over the years to get too hung up over it. My hope that with DX12/Vulkan putting more control of the GPU in hands of developers rather than AMD/Nvidia, we will eventually see decent multiGPU performance at launch day. My fear is that, as with anything, it's going to take a few years of fails before the developers get uniformly good at this, so I think we're still in for a while of disappointment yet.

Anyway, that's a bit off topic - looking forward to the new drivers when they come, in the meantime I'll be continuing my journey through my back catalogue of games and ones I've recently bought reduced and leave the overpriced new ones to come down into my price range. :)

What is the point in having the most powerful hardware if you have no drivers to harness the power?

I will not buy another AMD card! simples, they have zero respect for their customers, they prove this time and time again.

Before you bring up games that have yet to be released lets see if we can get working cf profiles for the ones released last year LMAO

I don't even want a date on the 390X, but some confirmation of its existence and specifications would go a long way.

Well if you can't manage your customers' expectations properly, and it ends up being counterproductive and driving customers to your competitor, then yes, they should shut the hell up instead of making things worse.

You would think they would have figured it out particularly considering they have an example already in the market and plenty elsewhere. They should not make definitive commitments or oversell to the consumer if they are even remotely unsure if they can hit them, to early to be sure, or if they rely on multiple stages of third parties. You can still tease/publicise new features to come and intro tech's being developed.

Regardless the above, I am still interested in what they working on, it's a shame you have to an extent do it yourself to be interested in what they are up to.

Still out either way you look at it.. Am using it so it's ready..

And am not defending amd here either this long waited driver is becoming a joke..
First time I have been really disappointed in amd.
