The AMD Driver Thread

When most of us will have probably completed the game and not care anymore ;)

Yeah like me. I already completed it. Lol

Still look foreward to proper crossfire drivers though. Still plan on exploring the game and doing missions. But for now I will wait for crossfire drivers until I do so.

I think it is fair to say that as some of the games released are of beta quality its not always the graphics vendor at fault. If a game patch fixes the issue then at least for AMD in this instance can take a deep breath and move on.

If they weren't so poor in the last year regarding drivers then there would not be a witch hunt out with the pitch forks! :)

hahahha. True, so many people going on about nvidia drivers and look at the state of them lately.

Still at least eyetrip can finally play elite with multi gpu though, shame amd took ages and pushed him to the competition.

Come one AMD, we need you to do better. I want to see nvidia and amd neck to neck on market share, as that is best for us all!

I understand, but if issues are fixed in a game patch and not a Catalyst Driver then there is nothing we could have done about it previously.

Great explanation for how pcars performance increased by 17% with one driver update and probably another 10-15% on the Win10 drivers....clearly Roy was talking out of his behind when he said it was all SMS's fault.

Poor effort from AMD....and instead of apologising the VP blames the devs

Hello AMD Bods!

Thought you GTA V peeps might be interested in this from the release notes from R*

Fixed an issue where certain combinations of anti-aliasing settings on CrossFire systems could cause graphical corruption

Happy Wednesday!

Good news, no need for a Catalyst Driver update folks.

As for Flickering seen in The Witcher 3 with MSAA enabled, no further update. It will be fixed in a future game update or an updated Catalyst Driver.

I was referring to the GTA V patch that has just fixed the corruption bugs seen with MSAA enabled on CrossFire setups.

· Fixed an issue where certain combinations of anti-aliasing settings on CrossFire systems could cause graphical corruption.
· Fixed a crash that occurred on certain CrossFire configurations when exporting long Rockstar Editor videos at high frame rates.
· Fixed issues with flickering effects that could be seen on some CrossFire systems.

TBF, you don't know if the AMD driver team have done a workaround/code replacement in the drivers that fix something buggy the dev team should have done themselves.

We had performance optimisations in the Beta build of the game that worked well. Once the final build released these optimisations no longer worked, for whatever reason. Not blaming the devs here, but either way we corrected it so our optimisations now work as they did in the beta build.

For the GTA V issue there was nothing we could do as it was a game issue so we had to wait patiently for the game patch. :)

What's this about the windows 10 modded driver improving performance on W8.1?! For some games it is supposedly a significant boost

Is is worth doing on my pc (w8.1 64 bit)? My primary concern is stability.

Will we get these improvements in a future W8.1 driver update?
