No but I was just asking the obvious question was the BSOD caused by the driver. It would also tell you which driver file was involved too so the question would be is it always the same file within the driver causing the issue.

For instance for all we know it could be the HDMI audio driver. Just wondered if anyone has actually checked whats causing it I've not seen anyone state which part of the driver it is and whether several people have the same crash with the same part of the driver software. Just as an example I use headphones so wouldnt be using the HDMI audio driver.

still running 20.4.2 never had any problems after turning off ultimate free sync on my cheapo monitor settings and switching it to standard.

had all sorts of weird stuff happening before but nothing since, guess ill update to the latest ones when a game demands it :)
 
Started a driver update for my rtx 580 to 20.8.

I am now stuck with a black screen unable to get anything to appear or even boot into bios. I have even tried to use the hdmi port on my motherboard to see if I can get a picture and nothing.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Could try and remove and re seat the GPU or try another PCI slot.

Maybe try a bios reset first by taking the battery out, disconnecting the mains then holding the power button down for 30 seconds.

Once done leave the disconnected from the mains and battery removed for ten mins, once done re connect power and battery
 
I have tried holding down the cmos, unplugging the card, removing ram and re inserting.

Going to try a display port cable tomorrow.

Not sure if I have a battery to take out. Running a msi x470 gaming pro board.
 
Launch the driver you want to install, during the wizard, pick the option to nuke old drivers and install using AMD utility.
 
Does anyone know how to add Game Pass games to Wattman? It doesn't find them automatically and the exe's seem to be hidden away somewhere so i cant apply my overclock/undervolt profile to them.

anyone having issues of BSOD Video_TDR_Failure amdkndag.sys error? happening a loads times a day no consistency to it. Checked memory, reinstalled drivers, done sfc /scan now on cmd

Not sure if we should be worried we're back to multiple releases in a month. Anyway, after the disaster that was 20.8.1, I was getting on OK with 20.8.2 but had to try this out after seeing a claimed 12% FPS boost in Fortnite DX12 in the hope that this would translate to all Unreal Engine 4 games on all supported cards. Alas Borderlands 3 in DX12 Ultra only gained a 0.5% improvement on a Vega 56 on stock settings. A gain is a gain though so will stick with it for now...

Why be worried with the fact Amd is releasing game ready drivers for new games? Lol
 
20.8.1 wasn't very good for me, a Vega 64 user. 20.8.2 was better but still, some quirks and oddballs. So by this rate 20.8.4 might actually be good for me. Not in a rush though to update as the 20.7.2 is working without issues and I'm getting very good frame pacing with it.

Call me an old sceptic (for I am) but I can't help wondering whether game releases are just a cover for urgent bug fixes to keep the press noise down ahead of big Navi. I'm still scarred from July last year and January this year when AMD released 5 and 4 versions respectively because they just couldnt get the stability right. More releases = rushed development = more mistakes in my experience
