AMD Catalyst Omega Driver - AMD goes under that name today with a new driver for Radeon modern-Grafkkarten at the start, which is designed to provide not only better performance in certain applications, but at the same time with an expanded feature set at the start about. Among other things, there are now at AMD Virtual Super Resolution (VSR) - a counterpart to NVIDIA DSR. What does the new driver, answer our test.

I'm probably doing something wrong and it's way too early in the morning for all this, but I can't get VSR working (at 1440+) without a black border around the screen like you get when you don't set overscan to 0%.
Tried as many combinations of this and that in CCC as I can think of fwiw. Who's got the magic answer?

Before the usual suspects chime in, go green is not the magic answer :p

On the bright side, it does look nice in it's little window...

I think Techpowerup have goofed up with their testing on this.

In some things they show a bit of a dip for the newer drivers, these are the same things where you get a dip if the CPU is running slightly slower. On the things where the CPU does not have much effect the newer drivers have done better than the old ones.

I wish when these tech sites use Futuremark benches that they would post the entire results summary and link rather than just the overall scores.

Pete are you running full screen mode in said games? Have you tweaked Windows display zoom scaling at all? Which games are you having issue with, do they all exhibit the same behaviour?

Full screen? Check.
Windows display zoom scaling? Never touched it in my life.
All games.

Want pics of CCC settings?

ED: If I enable VSR and leave the in game setting at 1080p, it's full screen as normal. It's only when I set it to 1440 or above that I get the border.

Is your monitor overclocked? What is the make and model of it and what connection type are you using?

EDIT

You've got mail.

very interested to test SRV in wow 3D. Atm wow does not have proper AA doe to engine rendering change. Maybe if i run it at 1440p/1600p downscaled to 1080p it will look better :)

Depends how big hit on fps it will have. GPU is barely used as WoW is CPU capped in 3D so got some power to blow away :]
