*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

Why are you so upset about AMD geting some positive reviews for change? They are at 10% market and that needs to increase for all gamers sake. A monopoly like Nvidia is only increasing prices out of reach of the majority.
Reviewers are positive because the 9070 cards are providing gamers with a good increase in performance for a decent price.

Its hard to be kind to some folk on here. Even though a brand royally fudges up and is ripping of consumers, they seem to still not do enough wrong in some folks eyes. They wonder why a market share is so distorted yet being so entrenched in one company is always going to be bad for many reasons. The 5070 released today and still we get resistance to why you would not ditch nvidia at this price point.

I tend to watch Tech Yes City's reviews because he has been doing undervolting testing recently for the 5k cards, no one else seems to.

Undervolting is like overclocking is one of those things that needs more than an hour of tweaking.

I used to think taking my 7800 XT from 1150 mv to 980 mv and drop a **** tonne of power while gaining an equal **** tonne of performance was amazing, that was until a few weeks later it randomly crashed in game, ok..... about 10 days later it crashed again, hm? ok whatever.... a couple of weeks later it crashed again.

It wasn't until i reset the voltage to something much less fantastic that it 100% stabilised, yeah a 250 watt GPU running at 170 watts with 15% more FPS looks awesome on a chart.... its not reality tho.

Supply, that's the big deal. If they can meet demand, they will sell everything, whist Nvidia having nothing on the shelves. Amd have never had a better opportunity to gain market share and mind share through positive reviews.

They are faster and better value than Nvidia but worse value compared to last gen 7000 series at the same tier.

They aren't as good as the jump from the 6700 XT to 7800 XT, yes you're right about that, i would like the 9070 XT to be $550, i did say i would be happy with $600 as a compromise, i'm happy. I think the RT impartments help a lot.

Maybe I’m being overly pessimistic about a $599 card in terms of pricing. I’m expecting the retailer to take their cut and hike prices $50-100 over the base msrp which they are intimating they might do to maintain their margins.

I would be very surprised and happy if there was a card for £599. (I could just about tolerate a £100 hike over the 7800xt for better RT but the question is WHY do we have to? Why is pricing £100-150 more than 18 months ago?).

Keen to see the reviews for the 9070XT, I'm seriously considering one to replace my 3070Ti gaming at 4k.

My last two GPUs have been Nvidia which have been great, but to be honest I'm all for trying to even the playing field up a bit. Probably do the market good with more competition i.e. AMD clawing some back. It's clear Nvidia don't really care about consumer GPUs as much these days, more so data centre level AI chips where there's more money to be made.

The 5000 series release sure has been a dumpster fire from what's been reviewed etc. Been enjoying this thread and the hype train build up to the release last week.

It still gives you an idea of what is possible.

If it can run for weeks and then crash then you only need to tweak a little bit for full stability.

I'm torn whether to grab a 9070 XT or go for a OLED monitor. Still rocking a Sapphire 6800 that I grabbed from OCUK 4 years ago in January and the only game I play is PUBG at 1440p. Going to see what the reviews will say tomorrow...

If you only play that one game and performance is good with your 6800 then get an 1440P 240hz QD-OLED monitor.

The picture in OLED monitors - tvs are not matched by any upgrade in other hardware right now, go for the OLED and later GPU
