*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

I'm so triggered right now...

They were real all along!

I posted this in another thread earlier today. Honestly, its like a cheap knock off version of the render. The render has vents in a sort of x formation around the middle fan, the cooler ends are rounded vs angled on the real card, the material colours on the render are much more defined, even the Radeon logo is in a different position. The render looked nice, this really looks like it cost a fraction of the price.

Would anyone know why FSR3 would dissapear from setting options in game (Avowed) when changing to a 9070 XT? All I have as options now are native and TSR. Despite every option DLSS/FSR/XESS being available under a Nvidia GPU.
This is my first time using Adrenaline software, and the screenshot, record a clip etc doesn't work, just nothing happens when using the shortcut (also needing 3 key shortcut is annoying, why cant you set it to 1 key press??) Also Alt-Z does not bring up any sidebar, so yeah a lot of teething problems for me. Really want to get Relive working, I miss shadowplay so much already :(

Try using Optiscaler to get FSR4 working on Awoved since it's showing as compatible.

To get the Radeon metrics showing it should be ALT+R afaik but you have to enable it first. You should be able to customize the key presses somewhere in the Adrenalin software.

I wish that windows could step up on this and start pushing their vendor neutral entrypoint

OK I think I got FSR 4 working now, does that look like FSR4 is active?

Also am I reading it right that the GPU is pulling only 192 watts? (TGP)

Does anyone know what issues this is likely to actually cause?

They say its not supported, but it seems to be mostly working OK? I can't get Adrenaline to take screenshots or record clips but I don't think it's because of CSM.

Are you on windows 10 and not using secure boot?
Windows 10 yes, secure boot? never heard of it, but bitlocker is on if that means anything.

Also can we take a moment to appreciate how cool these cards run, this is running Black Ops 6, with decent case cooling the GPU fans would'nt even need to spin up.

Found an 9070XT only slightly above MSRP. And I got doubly lucky, I had a choice between the Sapphire Pulse and Asrock Steel Legend. Was going with the Sapphire one but it went out of stock. So bought the Asrock Steel Legend instead. Turns out that the Sapphire card would not have fitted in my case. I never thought to check until after I bought the card.

I am moving from a 6900XT. Mainly moving because of the improved codec performance of the RDNA 4 cards.

Was actually going to sit out this generation unless I got a card at close to MSRP. Didn't matter if it was AMD or Nvidia. Would have preferred the 5070Ti. But there isn't enough of difference to warrant waiting on one.

Can't wait for it to arrive to begin testing it in VR.

EDIT: Just want to add, when I say MSRP, I mean the £629 one, not the fake, limited £579 one.

Optiscaler is working in that pic. You could switch between FSR3.1 and FSR4 by using the 'change upscaler' option. You should seen an improvement with FSR4 especially on distant shimmery trees and more detail. You can change from Quality to Balanced or Performance mode in the game settings to get more fps.
To check gpu power draw, you can use MSI Afterburner/Riva tuner to see it on screen and GPU-Z to see a graph over time.

The main improvement of FSR4 is image stability

Looks like your experience regarding the card is warming at least! :)

Your BIOS is likely legacy and you are getting the notifications to get on UEFI with secure boot, something which Win11 will expect.

AMD use better mosfets than Nvidia....

AMD or Sapphire?
Are the mosfets sent out by AMD? I thought they were separate from the GPU die?
Unless AMD specify the spec of the mosfets partners have to use. Would be nice, spec high end mosfets, let someone else eat the cost and then wonder why there or so few MSRP cards.

I'm just going from what he said, he made that point before he even opened the card so i'm guessing its what components AMD specify. He also said that he almost never sees AMD cards in for repair, that could just be market share but also states when he does get them in for repair its never the power stages, where as with Nvidia they come in with blown power stages a lot.

Having said that i have seen Northwest Repair comment on the quality of Sapphire card's specifically.
