Yeah from what I've read reference parts should be early Aug, with AIB's aiming for end of Aug.

yay. I am so happy AMD are showing vega rx in Budapest. lots of people will get to see and use it.

said no-one.

ever.

Idea - Insomnia is mid-august how about confirming a booth there to show it off ?

Not surprised. Well I hope they realise that the longer they take, the cheaper they will have to be. For me anyway. But they are better of delaying than getting slaughtered in reviews I suppose.

Yup but time is precious as well.am piling up an inventory of games that i will be playing on my new Ryzen + Vega system.. one is probably languishing in some warehouse and the other is yet to be produced... sometimes i feel like getting 2 ti's but now i have invested so much time in vega :)

If the rumour of the reference model being $599 is true it'll need to be extra special to sell for that.

Rumour at 1:39
Too expensive unless as you say it is something extra special. The XTX should be that price at the most is my expectation. But if that rumour is true the XTX will end up being £600+ which to that I will say no thanks and wait for Volta sadly :(

We need price for performance to improve 12+ months on, not stay the same or get worse.

If it is that much I'll try not too.

Yep, price will definitely matter. It needs to be very competitive as they are very late to the game and less efficient. Otherwise will hang on as I got a 7970 recently and that plays everything I am currently interested in playing anyway. Replaying a new Deus Ex mod called GMDX which runs nice and smooth maxed out at 4K :p

My other games I just play 1080p on my Plasma TV, so happy to wait for Volta if AMD over price :D

Have you tried Dues Ex Revision? It's free if you own the original on Steam.

This indicates that RX Vega will be a paper launch, so I'd personally expect them in Sept;

It's getting later and later :(
The smart move will be waiting to see what Volta's all about if Vega get's any later. That said there was a rumour about a shrunken Pascal being a possibility and it makes sense if the competition isn't there,
The positive for getting Vega is you know it's gonna take AMD forever to get Navi out the door so you'll remain the priority for a lot longer than Nvidia's gpu's.

Could be, Or maybe they're just using a show other's are doing and tagging along.

AMD do something like that with Hawaii. They booked a room next door to where an Nvidia event was taking place and then invited the gathering press to come around for tea, biscuits & a sneak peak at the 290x giving the Titan a run for it's money. :D

If Sapphire do something similar to the Fury Tri-x and it has the same chip & performance as the water-cooled version I may go with that.
The one thing I don't want this time around is the cut down version.

Genuine question. . .Apart from the obvious 'decrease in performance' why would having the cut down version be bad? Im not saying that you said "it would be bad" btw. . Im just wondering

Computerbase.de tested the card and found the card in reality seems to have quite low memory bandwidth in their test suite.

I do wonder whether this might be part of the reason the gaming benchmarks on the Vega FE look underwhelming.

Which is ironic considering how much the HBCC has been advertised as a major improvement. I wonder if something's not working correctly there of if it's HBM2 related, or if something's just disabled (or enabled which would not be in the gaming card)...

I was the same with Ryzen, so many times i had a 7700k in the basket.. i held off and the reward was worth it :D
