Heh, @Gregster was never kidding but still, I cannot get over how serious people get obsessed over computer hardware. Like it is life and death. It is only hardware.

Passion for the industry and hobby/work really.

Same applies to people that mountain bike, do marathons, or do the whole RC planes/cars.

From a gaming perspective, there's very few games that will take advantage of 16 cores anyway, right?

You wouldn't think so but i am sure it will be reviewed in games at some point. We are moving forward a little with games being more threaded these days but will be ages before we need so many. IPC and high clocks seem to be king still. I think a good 6 core 12 thread with high clocks will be the new king of gaming.

Well I would be interested in buy anyone's Fury or 390 if anyone is looking to sell to upgrade soon. Got a wanted thread up :D

@LoadsaMoney - You sure you don't want to sell me one of your Fury Pro's? :p

14 months ago AMD were shouting about how out of order the price of a 1080 was ans how you could buy 2x 480's for the price of one 1080.
Fastforward to today...... need i say more.

Well at least I haven't bought Prey or Wolf II yet so that's something.
I'll just have to see if Nvidia do enough to entice me to buy a faster gpu between now and the release.
I tried Dying Light with my 1060 last night and it was a mess, I'm not sure why though,
The fps seemed okay after reducing just about everything and the memory usage got no higher than just over 5gb's so I'm not sure why it was so bad,
I haven't played it for months but back then it ran as smooth as butter with my Fury pro.

That's odd. It runs super smooth on my RX480 8gb.
Perhaps try it again if drivers have changed since then.

You holding out for Navi now or Vega 20 lol.
I am holding out for the one after Navi actually :p:D

Not sure what I am holding out for to be honest. Right now want something that supports Freesync and is cheap and ideally that does not sound like a jet engine. Once the games I want to play start coming out next year, I will decide what I want then.

At current exchange rates, there's ample scope to cut a minimum £50 off the price.

Oh believe me thats not gonna happen, they will almost certainly have a convenient "stock shortage" like just about every other gpu launch in history allowing stores to apply the wang without lube and start cranking on the price.
