it's simples .. just 2 cards per address in the uk only ..
you know it's a miner when they order 5 at a time or have a non uk postcode ..
well that's if you really want to help uk gamers

I purchase quite a few stuff from the UK, depending on the EURO/GBP exchange rate...

I'm a little confused. The 1080 is about 30% faster than the 1070? Yet the Vega 56 seems to comfortably beat the 1070 and Vega 64 seems to just about keep up with a 1080. Sounds like the 56 is a good card but they couldn't really squeeze much more out of it in the 64.

I don't see a bad thing in mining for us over time. Ok, at the moment it's **** for whoever wants to buy a gpu, but the manufacturers will adapt to the demand and in the end more sold gpus means more money for r&d and better future gpus. Especially for a money starved r&d department like RTGs that's great.

https://www.eteknix.com/amd-radeon-rx-vega-56-arriving-september/

It seemed AMD will launch RX Vega 64 reference cards only on 14 August but not RX Vega 56 so you will have to wait another month until September for RX Vega 56 reference cards as well RX Vega 64 custom cards.

Damn on paper Vega 56 was the card to get. Good specs and reasonable power draw, I bet if you clocked a Vega 56 to Vega 64 levels there would hardly be any notable difference in performance under non a-sync enabled games.

I bought 4 Sapphire RX480s at launch and nobody batted an eyelid if I did that now would I get vilified?

I quite fancy buying 2 Vega GPUs at launch myself. One to upgrade an RX480 in my sim rig and possibly the other to replace my 980 Ti so probably 1 x 56 and 1 x 64.

Shops in north america have been known to buy stock from ocuk.

As have overseas miners been known to buy enough cards to make their own throne.
a company buying things would surely contact ocuk and agree a different price for multi items .. so you have letterheads and a fair bit of communication..
miners not so much they would just do a web order ..
and for those in the eu .. again a 2 card rule .. for the first 1-2 months ?

Except if the HBM2 is "bad" HBM that can't really go higher. We don't know what is the limiting factor yet for the VRAM.

I don't even think a 1080 'comfortably' beats a 1070. Don't rely on any leaked numbers as they are simply plucked from thin air. Best wait for independent reviews.

Sorry @Gibbo but if you really want to stop miners from buying up Vega then don't help spread the awareness of VEGAs mining capabilities no ? :p Admit it :) you like selling to them for a huge profit margin, i dont blame you its good business.

Someone is going to be selling the cards to miners, it might as well be Gibbo. At least he does special offers with the half price discount codes to customers who just want one card for gaming and it's a sensible, non-ripoff price.

Maybe, and please humour me here, maybe just maybe it isn't just a Furyx on a die shrink. It is for gaming at the moment, but the actual arch is well ahead, something easier to get at with mining than for gaming.
Put it this way. If they can get it to those sort of hash rates with a driver update then Fury x has some gains to be made too. And i can't humor it because saying it isn't a furyX on a die shrink is silly. Because that's exactly what it is. AMD just improved the arch that's all. However its yet to be seen where "all" those improvements lay.

Vega 56 out in SEPTEMBER well...... WELL guess they are waiting for Pound to Dolar exchange rate to hit bottom of the bottom :/

This is how my Waiting for Vega ended.
