Possibly Apothecary Diaries for me, just fun and interesting to watch with some good characters.

Although i'd be hard pushed to choose between it, Frieren and Delicious.

I've got to admit i'm struggling to sit down and watch anime at the moment, the last few years I've been lucky to keep up with 2 or 3 series a year, 5 years ago that would have been a dozen with ease.

Frieren easily.

That said, I think there were a few dark horses that were unexpectedly good that I gave a chance despite very much not looking like my sort of thing:

- Go-Go Loser Ranger (I really don't like the Power Ranger type stuff, never have or will and didn't even as a kid. This seems like that at first glance, it really isn't and actually becomes pretty dark/brutal later into the season).
- Shangri-La Frontier (Loving this, second season recently finished. It's a deep-dive video game type show but more light hearted while somehow managing to have more variety and depth than anything I've seen in years. I say this as someone that has been long tired of the likes of Sword Art Online and many others, it's just honest/fun and to the point with some good comedy and brilliant action scenes.)

How far did you get?

I came close mid point admittedly. I think it's one of the reasons I hate how many anime will draw things out while feeding you piecemeal, a solid 40-60 min first ep should be standard imo and we are starting to see that more often as the initial episodes of anything rarely show things off well, or at worse set unrealistic expectations to drag people in even though later episodes might match the earlier tone. I'm not sure if that would have been the case with Go-Go Loser Ranger but I think it would have been easier to stomach the first half, the latter third of the season is what shows the potential for it while the middle was semi-interesting setup.

I'd argue that many of these animes are used as manga advertisements more than anything else, some dilute the source content to a point it's borderline damaging as a marketing piece imo.

(Most of your list are pre-2024 btw, really solid suggestions though! :p I was trying to use that as a reference lol.)

as for season 3 of solo leveling info been all over the place, initial reports suggested late 2026 to early 2027. now report suggesting as early as October 2025 to early 2026. also report suggest it not very popular in japan compared to other countries so the fact it got a third season speak volumes. as gate was very popular in other countries but not in japan hence why it only got it one season or two season if you count the split as two separate seasons.

It's a South Korean web series that actually has an ending dating back to 2021 (it began around 2015-2016), and there tends to be a lot of back and forth between Japan and SK.

I'd not get overly invested in whether or not it'll come, it's more a matter of time situation based upon popularity, and whether or not it's big in Japan is irrelevant in this case.

I've watched Kaiju no 8 and enjoyed that. But not as much as Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon. I watched quite a bit if demon slayer but it wasn't for me. I'll have a look into the others mentioned though
 
Finised Moonrise and enjoyed it, animation was mostly good throughout but no major moments where they went 'nuts' like with AOT.

Been watching random anime which have been recommended on Reddit and Facebook. Have been watching 86 but it seems like they just chat all day. Then a little argument, then apologies blah blah then chatting away and hardly any action. Thinking should I just stop.

Dont stop. i was like that too at the start, you dont appreciate it until it really gets going into the meat of the story. Carry on trust me.

Clicked on it due to the cover and me being a degnerate, but what kind of premise is this show? lol I am not even 15mins in and this is absurd!

(The premise is that the main girl can turn back time and redo with her special power, to activate this special power, she takes off a piece of her underwear, so our protagonist's job (so far) is to carry her bag of underwear and have to put them on for her)

Started Wind Breaker season 2 and Sword of the Demon Hunter, not bothering with anything else atm as I'm going through Yu Yu Hakusho...94 deep so almost at the end!
