The Apprentice 2008

Did anyone think that Tesco bought 6000 of the environmental cards for the sole reason that if they hadn't they might have seemed like they were not doing anything for the environment?

This purchase decision seemed more like a risk mitigation for Tescos to be seen as a green company.

Exactly my thoughts also. I expected a Tesco buyer to be more canny than any of the others, but that was the only reason I could think of as to why they would have placed an order - pure publicity.

Saira's idea was by far the best out of her team and it was completely dismissed. The way the contestants spoke about her like she wasn't there at the end was a heinous piece of television, I hope Sir Alan picks up on this next week. I was totally disgusted.

Raif to win all the way now.

one thing that cracked me up.

Early in the show kevin was saying how at 23 hes on his second house and owns a porsche. He then says he wants a ferarri yet he pitches about the environement. What a crap choice for a pitcher :p

If Raef or Lee win this competition I will be happy :) I hate that annoying little toff Sophaclees (sp? :p)- He is a little pain in the backside yet has managed to avoid detection thus far- his time will come. the git. What on earth was that outburst?! What an idiot- showed how fragile his posh facade really is.

Alex I feel is very immature and only ever seems to be contributing "I can do whatever I want, I know I'm right and I'll say my opinion whenever and to whoever I want" etc etc ... Grow up. (By the way, everyone is constantly going on about how 'good looking' he is.... girls -> really????!)

The girls are all so very meh. Lucinda has something about her, eccentric as it is- I feel she has a lot more to her than we have seen. She could use a little more 'oomph' when it comes to standing up for herself.

Raef is a very strong candidate in my opinion. He is able to lead, be a team player, take and give instruction and do so competantly and with excellent manner. Great personal and presentation skills in my opinion :) Highlighted these by sticking up for that girl last night, despite the majority of the team against him.

Lee, although a bit of a 'wideboy geezer', has good honest qualities and comes across as very true. I think SAS will see these qualities and rate them highly when looking for his future employee.

I'm rather enjoying this series although I can't help but feel the candidates are chosen for good television rather than ability. :)

Yes ! I just watched this now in my lunch hour, The arrogant little britain lookalike has GONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With Liverpool out of the CLC, Woooooooooooooot !!!!!! :D

I just watched this again, Kevin's pitch to Clintons for their environmental card is just plain hilarious, he looks like he's fighting for his life, then Jenny goes on about not buying cards because its bad for the environment, then he goes on to compare Clintons to the US on environmental policy...

Best entertainment for ages..

Kevin could have saved himself by saying "the team gave me no good ideas, through a bit of inexperience I decided to do the pitch but realised my error and asked claire to do it. She refused because she was working for herself and not the team. The fact that Tesco's ordered cards showed I did learn quickly throughout the pitching." As SAS said, he talked himself into it.

In the boardroom I thought they were just ganging up on Sara but the fact that they continued in the house seems to suggest they really did think she was lazy and sitting in the background. Some seemed genuinely angry about it.

Raef continues to impress.

Alex is clearly out of his depth.

The ECO warrior one (name fails me now) is just an oddball.

I was really disappointed to see Lee going off on one at Sara last night. Really uncalled for - he wasn't even on the team.

Thought he was better than that, as it were.

Lee is a meat head.

Thick

and a *****

He had an idea of aliens day for the greetings card FFS.

I thought the ganging-up on Sara was pretty unfair - yes, she was quiet, but the others just looked like vultures trying to save their own skins - very unprofessional.

Kevin deserved to go - I cringed at the aggressiveness of his pitch. You don't need to be a very astute businessman to realise that practically accusing the Clinton big cheeses of running an environmentally-unfriendly company isn't gonna get you very far.

I'm sure SAS would've fired Jenny if she'd been in the boardroom. I couldn't believe that she didn't appreciate that environmentally-friendly greetings cards were a contradiction in terms; even casting that aside, I found the cards incredibly preachy and condescending and would not be amused if anyone I knew decided to buy me one.

If I had been given one I would be angry at the person sending it to me, and would remind them it would have been far more 'eco-friendly' to ring me or email me :p
