The Apprentice - Series 8

If you go on Dragons Dem, at least you dont have all the hassle.

I think you will find they do have all the hassle. Once they agree a deal in the den they then have a load of stuff to go through before they actually get the investment. Theo or Peter said it once on one of those what happened after type programs.

I'm not doubting that.
My point was that on The Apprentice you have to go through weeks of an elimination process, possibly causing great national embarrassment to yourself just to try and get a chance to demonstrate your plan to a single investor.

I think the reason he scrapped the apprentice idea for business investments is because Stella English came out and told all the media that she was pretty much left to rot somewhere in his business and was worse off than in her previous job and then eventually forced out so she sued him.

TBH I'll be keeping an eye on Ricky because I'm skeptical about how real these £250k investments are, that's why I didn't think he would go with the online recipe idea as the outcome of it would be clear for all to see.

I think Sugar is probably more interested in the show which is probably a bit of a money spinner for him and supplies one or two investment opportunities along the way (not limited to the winning candidate).

Well it must be a good 20+ hours of tv time he gets over about a three month period in a primetime tv slot due to the show. Add to that all of the tabloid and media coverage that comes as a bonus due to the competitive nature of the show and you have a win win formula.

There are businesses that would kill to get that kind of widespread publicity.

I never really knew who the guy was before the Apprentice started to air but now most tv viewers know who he is whether they willing watch the show or not.

It all comes down to publicity in the end.

I'd be interested to see the BBC ditching Sugar and making a new Apprentice with a different person as the focus.

Just finished watching this on SKY+ did I hear right that Ricky Martin is actually a "stage" name to get him noticed? LOL.
