I've only ever seen the American show previously, and to be honest I wasn't too impressed with the UK version. I actually grew to really like some of the contestants learning under Trump, whereas I found almost everyone in the UK effort obnoxious with a high hateability factor. Not the sort of people I want to see crash and burn, just the sort I don't want to watch on the TV at all. Oh, plus Amy from S1 in the states was absolutely stunning

I agree with some of the other people here. I personally found the US one better. I saw season one of the UK one and I liekd it, but i got bored pretty quickly in this one.
And i'm not sure why this is, but the whole program had a dull feel to it colour wise. It's not my tv cause the other channels were fine

but the colours in the show were just not vibrant which didn't do anything to help the show.

And agree with what bitboy said about the contestants under Trump vs the ones under Sugar.

Yes. Why do I believe that? Because Sir Alan himself said so. They kept saying things like "put a bit more passion into it", and similar, to encourage him to play up the arrogant magnate image. Then, of course, they get to choose what bits to show and what bits to cut, and that has a huge impact on the overall impression a show creates. Unless you've seen it done, you wouldn't believe what judicious editing can achieve.

Just because he seems cold, arrogant or distant, don't believe that accurately reflects anything more than one aspect of the man, and a small one at that. The same thing could be done to almost anyone, given enough material to start with. Apprentice is about TV, and a bit of theatre makes for good TV. Just don't put too much credence in what you see.

That stupid Abu someone or other bloke 'The parrot' should have been fired. He done nothing yet Ben who basically got flamed got fired.

I like it though when sugar asked the other guy why he was in there and his response was 'I have no idea' - Was he asleep or something?!

I think TBH the American version is better because trump is respected by a lot of people not just in America. You don't feel as if that version is played up as much.

I don't know if anyone kept up with S4 of Apprentice US but it was boring. Same old same old, the UK one is way better cos there is less BS. The people in it are more realistic and don't have the American ultra-polite style.

Really? I'd see it a different way. He is a guy who knows his strengths and weaknesses. If he knoews he can't sell as well as the others then why try? If you're in a team you have to know what your'e good and bad at, then everybody can play ther strongest roles and the team does well as a whole.

I can actually believe that. I noticed that when he sent out the guys to make his decision on the 3, when discussing it with his colleagues his 'arrogant no BS' tone was dropped completely and it actually sounded like he cared about getting the decision right. Then the 'confrontational' bit comes back and he's all back to the no BS persona.

Good program though, I thought it was harsh on the guys as the girls did not have a sustainable business model doing what they did whereas the guys would have continued to bring in a steady profit. If I were in the girls shoes I would have justified it as a one-off fund-raising tactic to provide more funds for a sustainable business in future.

And yes, the hyper curly-haired woman makes me want to punch her in the knockers.

I think he handled it pretty fairly. He did tell the girls that their buying methods weren't good or what he wanted to see, but they still outsold the guys even when assuming that they had spent the same amount.

Ben also didn't exactly shine as project leader, so he certainly deserved to be in the frame.

But I wouldn't have had as much trouble as Alan Sugar seemed to have making a decision. The gobby one, Syed the Parrot would have been booted without hesitation had it been my decision. His only tactics seem the be assuming that everybody else reckons he's great (which he isn't, from what I saw), and trying to make his point by talking everybody else down. Had I been in AS's place, I'd have wanted to hear what Ben had to say, and Syed was nothing but overtly rude. Syed had made his point, and needs to learn when to keep his gob shut. It did, however, also show that Ben didn't have an answer to that strategy .... or not one that impacted on Syed at all.

Frankly, I'd have shut Syed up if I'd been in AS's position, simply by telling Syed that either he put a cork in it and let Ben finish his sentence, or I'd kick him out right there and then. Syeds attitude might work in a pub debate, but it won't go down well in most boardrooms, and with that attitude, there's no way I'd employ him. At least Sugar's parting remark to Syed suggests the writing is firmly on the wall. It needs to be, IMHO.
