hooneeawr said:I'm gonna be ordering one of these very very soon. I was thinking:
144 Opteron
2 Gig OcUK Value Ram
Freezer64 Cooler
I've glanced over most this thread, and i did spot a comment about the cooler around page 20(?). I assume it does fit alright, but has anyone got a picture of it on this board just to make me feel better before I order? Ta!
chopchop said:isnt there a 270limit on the ver3 bios?
ironhorse said:yeah there is a limit on the ocw3 bios, really peed off because the opteron i have will do 280x10 on the ocw1 bios but i had cold boot issues with it so had to trade off with the lower htt on the ocw3 bios.
chopchop said:sure you want the 144? a lot less chance of getting near 3ghz with it

Just tried building a PC for a mate of mine, using one of these mobos. Can't get the thing to power on, very similar to the problems that edgedemon reported earlier. With the 20-pin power connector and the 4-pin connector plugged in, the PC won't start up at all - literally not a twitch. Pull out the 4-pin connector and then try, and the cpu & case fans will start, but the display doesn't come on and the machine doesn't post. Try again with the 12v 4-pin connector plugged back in, and not a peep. PSU is an "e tech Win-400PS" whatever that is, and is (apparently) rated at 400W. Dead mobo, dead PSU, or some other problem?
The ToAsT said:We're still no further forward on this, can't get the thing to work. A lot of Googling and forum browsing has shown a lot of people suffering similar problems. Some have had success with multiple attempts at clearing the CMOS, others have had no joy at all. We're trying to arrange an RMA with the retailer now, having exhausted all other options.
