The bad thing about parking sensors

When it comes to parking, I rock. Any size space, bingo, I can get the 5 into it neatly, quickly and efficiently. I've never had an issue. The parking sensors are also really handy but hey, we don't rely on them. It's just another useful aid.

So today I reverse park the 1 Series. No parking sensors. No problem, its a small car.

Epic fail. I ended up about 2 foot from the curb thinking I was about to touch the car behind. Left the car and the gap between the rear of my car and the parked car was not the 3 inches I thought it was but.. a good 4 foot.

:(

You are a clearly nothing but a choad :) Having said that parking vehicles i am not used to has never been my strong point so its a bit pot kettle.

Never had the luxuary of parking sensors.

However with a 11 metre turing circle, getting used to parking my CTR is hard going even after having it a few months now. Pulling into a parking bay straight is bad enough!

I couldn't quite get the whole 'where the window stops the car stops' thing :(

The Estima has parking sensors, and they are a great help, especially with the size/shape of the thing. However, despite the fact that the 'teg has none, I can still park it without leaving huge gaps all round.

Spatial awareness > parking sensors.

;)

I wish my new motor had parking sensors. I can, sort of, judge where the back of the car is but it would be so much quicker if I had that be.....be.....be...be..be.be.beeeeeeeee to help put my mind at rest.

As it is I work on the principle of if I park at 0.1mph then even if I do hit something, its not going to leave a mark :o So after parking at the speed of a large glacier I then jump out to see that I've still left enough space to park an old style mini :o
