I used to play on i5 2500 and 570 gtx now I have 4690k and 570 gtx

We tend to move around servers depending on the maps and whether they're being farmed or not.

I was playing on high with locked 60 fps, but would get stutter every now and then, so droped it to medium.

It feels so wrong playing at 1600x900 on a 21.5"

I don't really enjoy bf4 as I'm new to it and simply aren't competitive, but I really enjoyed Paracel storm map the other day, loved the big waves on my jet ski! Is there a simple way in the server browser to find this map?

He a tight ass, come with some prebuild desktop from about 8 years ago, he will not ever buy a ssd, but then again he only 13.

BF4 premium is only £24 at the moment on origin. The map packs have all been free at some point, but for a limited duration. I'm not sure if they are free atm though.

Depends if you want to play the extra content maps or not - the base game is £3.74 on origin right now and as Hazard says the expansions come up on "on the house" quite frequently.

EDIT: Or you could get the deluxe edition at £6 currently see how you get on with the game as that has most of the most played content currently and hope to pickup the rest free/or when on sale - though might be slightly more expensive way to do it if you go premium later.

Ok cheers lads. Got a wee itch to play a normal FPS. I've got Overwatch but it's not up to much in my opinion. Is Battlefield the best option? On a side note, BF1 looks like it could be a laugh, looking forward to that.

BF is great if you like an arcadey full spectrum warfare game. If you like it more realistic, you should look at ARMA or Squad. It's got a high skill ceiling, so you might find it tough going to start against experienced players.
Servers are a bit hit and miss. Sometimes the hitreg is spot on, and others are a laggy mess.

I played a couple of hours last night for the first time in months I really enjoyed myself. There is a 64 Player UK based conquest server which only plays the vanilla maps, can't remember what the name is of the top of my head. I get 12 ping to the server, which isn't bad, latency/hit reg feels quite good. As for a 'high skill ceiling' umm I'm not so sure, it took me a good 10 minutes to get back into it but then was going 2:1 KD ratio around top 5 score wise..... but then I actually play the objectives.

I'm a reasonably good player, the 3 people above me in this round have serious skills..
