Went brilliantly, helped when I said I can build my own PC's seems the site doesn't have anyone will any technical knowledge in that regard.

Now, I've had a shocking day at work, 200 miles driven, roads closed everywhere, had some very problematic jobs and some horrible rude customers today.....SO I WANT TO GO AND ANNIHILATE BF 4 SERVERS TONIGHT AND KILL ALL I SEE :)

The second icon, at the bottom, shows four squares that indicate packet loss. When you see this icon, your connection to the server is experiencing lost packets, which means that information is failing to reach its destination, either when your game client sends it to the server or when the server sends the information to you. Please keep in mind that packets always get lost on the Internet and that you should not be alarmed if you’re seeing this icon blinking once or twice. If you have a large amount of packet loss and see the icon often, you will probably experience game “hiccups” sometimes – action will stop for a moment, then speed ahead to catch up.

Mine is always on. It never flashes just always on.

Don't have this issue in any other game or network protocol.
 
Interesting read, those notes. Promising. (Obviously, still not great that it's this long out and there are still such major issues for a lot of people, but I rarely experience them so find it hard to get worked up).
The thing im worried about is that most of theese problems were present in bf3, and to a large extent still are. So i dont hold out a lot of hope for dice fixing them in bf4.

Re: Article. Exploring the possibility of increasing the tick rate on servers will mean jack **** if the client is stuck at 10hz.

As for the rest we'll just have to see. Also I get packet loss indicators all the time and my internet connection is rock solid using ethernet cable from my switch to my PC. :confused:

I wonder if that icon is actually showing a problem where the update rate is too low to show actions in a timely enough fashion resulting in the game having to "jump" to the outcome with the resulting hit reg and "netcode" issues.

If you look at a game like Quake 2 - even though its a really old game the server (game simulation update rate) works at 10Hz but the clients are "double pumped" so client information is always fairly close behind the server whereas BF4 almost inverts that with the clients updating at 10Hz but the server at 30Hz so your client actions can be significantly behind the latest server "tick".

UCAV got nerfed a bit and for good reason if you ever were unfortunate enough to experience the "killer bees" thing :S

oi!!! They were "Pro PTFO bees". Honestly I think I can say that one night just after Xmas (iirc) was the best ever night of BF I have ever had.

We were all high / drunk / well fed after Xmas, I was broadcasting Bob Marley / Valkyries / Epic music over TS and there were 3 of us with Ucav and 2 with Suav camping the CN base on Guilian peaks going 50ish for 1-2 deaths each. We were all singing Bob Marley over teamspeak while flying in formation to flags or racing to fly them through the guilian tunnels.

Dunno whats changed but I literally cannot play BF4 tonight, my packetloss thing is always showing, lagging like crap. Everyone complaining of similar on servers :/

Same here, game has an underlying rubbery bandy feel and the packetloss icon up almost constantly :S
 
Loading fine for me but a bit laggy. Noticed a strange one just now, standing behind a team mate in a doorway, (cant get passed him). Enemy player opens fire whereby the guy in front of me should drop, strangely i die and my team mate runs on?
 
If I spawn in a chopper I don't get any of the engine or weapon sounds from the chopper for a good minute or two. Also my Stinger doesn't make any noise when releasing the missile half of the time. :p
 
Just had a few great rounds as sniper on a sniper limited server. Was annoying people as every kill I got I got killed by the server meaning that if I was taking a point, we lost it :D
Also it's handy as I get one kill then die meaning I can't be shot and it doesn't count as a death.....such a stupid addition to the game
 
Must try and find the battlereport. I think us 5 were top 5 with all getting about 49-2 ish. And yes, all the vietnam classics were played, Fortunate Son of course, The End by the Doors ;D

So SCAN admins just kicked all the OCUK members because we beat them one round LOL
Tbf, i wouldnt consider it a big issue mate, the servers a lagfest. One of the worst ive ever been on. Stayed in the next round for about 5 mins, the rubber banding was enough to induce a headache.
 
That was pretty funny! Lol. Josh tried to get himself kicked by calling Nexus the C word! Haha!! They didn't really kick him since the round was finished! And we had won!
