The Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Went on a fun server last night (details on OcUK platoon chat) - was a bolt rifle only TDM server, iron sights only. Made for a very different style of play. It was just me and 3-5 of the owning clan most of the time, really nice chatty guys.

Recommend it for a challenge - missing one shot usually means death (since the guys who run it obviously play that mode a lot). I averaged JUST over 1.0 KDR, thanks to a few of those "at one with the gun" moments where you just sequentially headshoot 3-4 guys in a row.

I said that there are t many, not that there aren't any.

The number of people who can't play the game due to crashes are very small. The proportion of those where it's due to an actual software defect as opposed to some incompatible driver of hardware conflict will be even smaller
 
mantle hasn't really helped the funny thing is i play on a old driver no crashes and is flawless.

fps is great and really enjoyed last week or so on bf4. if titan fall wasn't out id probably got premium. bf4 isn't the greatest but can be fun if you get a decent server.

Iron sights only? Not the one we were on before then? How do they enforce Iron sights? On that other one I run round with an IRNV scope :D
 
had some fun over the weekend. and you guys are welcome to my tears ;) as you could see me flaming in chat haha! damn pub team stackers (only jelly as I was on other team :p )

been playing more as sniper, getting off some reasonably decent shots.... but getting frustrated in CQC situations. been using the 338 (i think) and found last night about 6 times it happened on servers where I'd be almost point blank range most of the times I'd even scope so the guy is filling the scope (impossible to miss ;) ) I fire but the instance I've fired he's got the kill on me and I do no damage/miss :( I dunno whether it's me missing/spread or because of varying latencies that it just doesn't say I've fired one server side :\

Jumped on a clan server yesterday, it was 4 clan members against 3 randoms with ~350 tickets to 64 left (CQ Oman). We then routed them.

You should see the hate we get when there are 8-9 of us on one server!
 
Had some fun yesturday on Golmund, I killed 5 helicopters and 3 jets from just Sabot alone! Hitreg was spot on!

Nope a new one.

It's good - they have an auto-kill script for anyone getting a kill with anything except a bolt rifle or knife (including pistols, nades, claymores etc) and an admin 'bot' (player with clan tag but 0K/0D the entire time I was there) that means you can votekick people for transgressions. Not sure how they enforce the scope thing - the whole time I was there it was mainly the guys running it and me (mostly 3v3, though since we had the 'bot' on our team and it never spawns, more like 2 v 3), so there wasn't anyone playing real silly buggers.

Also, they have minimap off, and 3D spotting off.

I'd love to join one of these pub stomps sometime. I tried to join Nexus on a game yesterday and ended up on the other side. It went well until I came across nexus. twice :(

Apologies to the OcUK'r who joined me on a game yesterday just before I rage quit. It was rush, the other team were rushing very aggressively, our team was incapable of stopping them, and I could barely land a single hit on anyone on that server, so rage quit ensued. :(
 
Since last playing, an updated mantle driver and another big patch later ...

FPS drops, stutter, directx crashes,memory leaks, other random crashes and I can't play on paracel storm as within 5 mins it freezes :rolleyes:

Annoyingly long load times to get into a game and quiting the game.

Had all of the above issues since day one. :o

Went brilliantly, helped when I said I can build my own PC's seems the site doesn't have anyone will any technical knowledge in that regard.

Hope so, helped that I can recognise Military Ranks and have a decent knowledge of the MOD. Will have to see as the site uses MOSS and I have little experience in that. They said they were more than happy to send me on as many courses as I could cope with!

Perfect just what I am after, also said if I do external Microsoft qualifications they would reimburse me if it was job role specific.

also remember one of you guy probably had a lucky escape from me! when we were on rogue transmission with myself on the opposite team I went stomping up from E to D in my tank just in time to spot the ATK chopper taking off. BOOM tank shell right in the kisser..... unfortunately only disabled and made the thing flip over and they bailed :( may have been one of you guys ;)
 
Should have seen the rage last night when I was in the jets on paracel, lacang :D

Was getting called a jet whore/winch, only bad players use jets and people saying jets should be removed from the game :D

I kept saying to the guy, you couldn't be more wrong and then lucky for him, zavod came up next and you know what that means ;) Needless to say he rage quit lol

This game is broken beyond belief though, last night on paracel, I couldn't hit this guy at all in the jet, well I was hitting him, but there was no reg. on him at all (see a dusting effect) and this was not just once but several ****ing times and then all of a sudden I take a **** load of damage and spiral out of control for no reason WTF??!?

Same with the gunship, seems like on certain maps or attacking it from certain angles, no hits will reg. On paracel yesterday and I couldn't do anything against it when in the attack jet.

Oh and encountering more and more invisible walls/textures now....

There are only two problems with whoring jets though..

- can't cap any flags etc. so skill goes down the drain big time
- if you have a decent AA guy or/and jets on the other team, you spend a lot of the time just flying around

= no MVP :(

I was wondering why on earth is this AA engaging a tank?!?! When I am in an AA and see a tank, I drive away! :p

Had a few problems with the middle section on flood zone between C and B flag - flying the LB along through there and running slap into something invisible - finally worked out what it is though - when the bit over the top of the stairwell that comes up near the C flag gets blown up quite often one bit of it ends up hovering about 20 foot up in the air and only visible when viewed from certain angles (usually above and from the side towards A).

Wasn't your fault, thought I could engage you long enough for the rest of my ****e team to come and help. Clearly not - tbh didn't realise that it was you, I would have run away. At that stage I believed we were still on the same team lol
 
Question :

I'm moving house soon but there maybe a slight problem with the distance from faceplate to computer. Is Battlefield 4 ok playing if you are using your internet via wireless? I'll be on Fibre Optic
