**** this game, cba with it any more, need a break, the players, the lag etc. is just ****ing me of big time and plus pretty bored of it now...

Will be playing some cs:go, l4d2 or/and bf 3 instead so feel free to join me.

Might even put bc 2 back on...

Well the stuttering back I just don't know how I am going to fix this lol.

Single player works perfect and the online test range map works perfect.
But a 64 player game and it's constant stutter to the point it's unplayable :(

MSI afterburner and gpuz say I am using 850-900mb of the 1GB vram I have so I know it's not that.

I opened all the ports I can find that bf4 needs.
It's defiantly got to my something with the network/broadband as only online mode effected.

I also find the game to be a complete stutter fest, changing to mantle has made it buttery smooth in terms of FPS, just wish DICE could sort the lag out though...

You've got 750 hours bud - maybe a bit of diversity wouldn't hurt :)

Yeah, it is a lot of time put into 1 game.... most hours that I have put into any game :o

Yup **** that, uninstalling cte for good, cba dll that much :p, cte already dll like 30GB over the last few weeks....

It is a shame that DICE aren't quicker with these updates for the standard game. We probably won't see a lot of the "good" changes for at least another month.

The new CTE patch is a new baseline, meaning you need to uninstall the old version before updating or rather reinstalling. A pain tbh, but it means that future patches should be much smaller, they say! :)

https://cte.battlelog.com/bf4/news/
Today we got a BIG patch for you, sorry in advance for that. Unfortunately this is the only way to fix the patchsize – we are doing a new “baseline”, and this time it contains all BF4 maps to date (Base, China Rising, Second Assault, Naval Strike, Dragon’s Teeth).

NOTE: You will have to UNINSTALL the CTE-client before downloading this patch, or you will run into issues (and your harddrive will thank you too). So start by uninstalling the CTE first! The build looks to be about 35+Gb, so brace yourself for that kind of size.

This will hopefully mean our coming patches will be small and nimble however – so Hooray for that!

PATCH CHANGES
This is what is included in this patch:

Flashbang tweaks
Flashbangs now hide the HUD (still shows the minimap – we will probable make them hide the FULL hud next).
Enemies flashbang time is now 10 seconds, and friendlies 5 seconds.
Grenade HUD-icons only shows when needed
De cluttering the HUD, and only showing these icons when they are a danger to you
Netcode Automation
The AUTO option now uses a new value to track if the client has trouble with the High Frequency setting (to determine if it needs to lower or raise the setting). The time is also shortened from 30s to 5s to react.

UI TRIAGE
New UI cleanup and tweaks added:

Independent minimap scaling and visibility control added
Via the advanced gameplay options screen. Minimap scaling has much higher limit than the existing general HUD scaling option
Player’s own health bar/HUD world icon
Disabled your own third person healthbar to reduce HUD clutter
The global HUD scale option moved from the video options screen to the advanced gameplay options screen
Player name/health/vehicle now shown for any friendly unit at long distance on reticle rollover.
Was for squad mates only before but based on requests from players wanting to know the status of any friendly distant vehicle we added this

VISUAL RECOIL – WEAPON PASS 2
We’ve now finished these weapons & sight combinations:

All Assault weapons
All Handguns
All Carbines
All sights on all weapon now use high quality textures
The sights fixed includes all Closerange and medium range ones except:

Iron sights
IRNV
FLIR
Remaining weapons to be fixed: PDW’s, LMG’s, Recon rifles, DMR’s and Shotguns.

BULLET COLLISION CLEANUP
We now have a new effort where we look at the worst object in the game when it comes to bullet collision – and fix them. Much thanks to this thread: Open Forum thread by Zoutepoel - Thank you!

Collision fixes in this update:

I uninstalled Cte and base game long time ago. So it's not too much bother for me to install the cte again. It's been ages since I've played the game so with the new maps and improvements I hope it feels like a new game.

You limiting frames in user.cfg? Makes my game lag a lot if I do that.

I have not messed with the user.cfg so not sure what is turned on but vertical sync is always off for my games.

Gothic what CPU / RAM / GPU do you have. I can recommend some settings to try if you want?

My specs
1GB 5870 (updated drivers)
AMD 955 running @3.6MHz.
4 Gb DDR3 1600 ram.
500 Gb hard drive (not sure of the speed)

Even with everything set to low the stuttering was the same.
Only when less people on the server did the stutter got lesser.

I am thinking my virgin media super hub that I have now is to blame as that is the only thing that has changed from bf3 to bf4.

Thanks.

There's your problem. :D

5870 and 1GB VRAM will struggle on low settings.
Another 4GB Ram will help things a lot as well!

What is your RAM usage in game? It's likely your RAM / VRAM is an issue.

After finding that out i'd try going into origin > BF4 > right click > game properties > change to 32bit rather than 64 and see if that helps. Come back with RAM usage and also if 32bit helped. We can go from there :D

The 5870 was fine for bf3 on med-high settings on bf3 and bf4 is almost the same game?

My vram never goes over 930 as I keep the heavy stuff off or low as it can go like shadows.

FPS is not the problem just this random stutter :(

Testing 32bit version now :D

Cheers.

I get stuttering in this all the time, lowest or highest settings, 64 or 32 bit. Spec in sig wether stock or overclocked, same with a previous pair of gtx 670's. Tried every fix I can think of but to no avail. Play bf3 and its so smooth to the point that I have to drop mouse sens/dpi way down to compensate. Average 80fps on bf4 on ultra x4 msaa at 1920x1200.

I have noticed that the reg feels worse for me since the update. Might check out CTE but no one plays it anymore :(
