I think the boring map rotation is probably the main reason I'e jumped on other games this last week or so. We definitely need something new, It's a great game with friends, but I'm just getting bored of the maps a little. So, just having a little break from it at the moment, plus been playing heavily modded Skyrim which in my opinion nothing can touch it. So much to do, so much eye candy.
 
I found that going Commander has really increased my enjoyment of this game lately. I'm trying to learn the strategy behind it all and I think it's improving my teamwork skills both as a Commander and on the ground. Gives you a really good overview of each map (literally) so you automatically start learning the map through this as well. I recommend trying it to anyone who's getting a bit bored with the game.
 
Anyone have bugged gunner seat in MBT on shanghai the one that spawns in car park at A flag??
Everytime I got in it last night I had no machine gun? not noticed it on any other maps ...
 
BF4 not recognising it is completely up to date when logging in with different base game types

I've asked this once before on here and have now posted in EA answer HQ (so not that hopeful haha)

This problem is the same on all 4 PCs.

All patches and the expansion pack installed.

E.G.

Account 1 = Battlefield 4 with China rising (the preorder edition) also a Premium account
Account 2 = Battlefield 4 (AMD product code) also a Premium account
Account 3 = Battlefield 4 with China rising (the preorder edition) not a Premium account


The game in initially installed on the PC using with account 1. All patches and the expansion pack and downloaded and installed.

Log in with Account 1 and can play no problem no updates are required ready to play
Log in with account 2 and it says game update required (2GB).
Log in with Account 3 and can play no problem no updates are required ready to play
Log in with account 2 and it says game update required (2GB).
Log in with Account 1 and can play no problem no updates are required ready to play

We had basically the problem with BC2 and BF3 and now BF4. So annoying when friends come round with different account types digital deluxe etc.

I live in the Countryside and have really slow broadband which makes the problem even more annoying.

Anyone know how to solve this?

hmm since updating to the 14.1 Cats, I've played 3 games, and 2 crashes.

1st crash - BF4.exe stopped working
2nd crash - screen just went black but with the flashing cursor top right. I was expecting to go back to BL screen and have a message on the bottom saying something like, booted because you killed admin to many times lol..but nothing. It closed my BL completely.

Same. Rolled back but looks good once they fix the issue

I love shanghai but it is ruined by camping roof faggots.

Every game yesterday, I couldn't move past E or D cause their team had either a spawn beacon or more likely a noob recon on top of the roof by E/D.

When that happens, it is extremely boring, just spend your time going back and forth and not to mention the MBT law warriors, pro skill right there!

Wish to god DICE would just make rooftops without elevators out of bounds, make flood zone, dawnbreaker, siege so much better.

Going to play as commander a fair bit today so I can just spam the cruise missiles on those camping faggots :D

if i were you i would contact ea via phone and discuss it with someone.
 
I agree, roof campers are horrendous and they ruin what would otherwise be brilliant games on Shanghai and Dawnbreaker, especially seeing as there's sod all you can do about them most of the time when you are in a tank.

That's why I primarily play on Golmud, my favourite map by far :D

My favorite moment of the game yet was jumping into the attack chopper as gunner and as we rose up over the buildings from spawn there was ~11 people sitting on top of that building between E and D sniping completely oblivious to us being there (never seen so many on one rooftop) - was like shooting fish in a barrel :D (I got 7 kills from that plus pilot got some more).

The only problem I have with roof campers is that the game engine doesn't seem to handle shooting up at them very well - seems a lot of time you just can't hit their hitbox even though you can see the player model on the edge of the building. Aslong as your heli pilots aren't fail they can clear most roof campers pretty easy, sadly too few of them actively do so.

If your not playing solo, get people in your squad to stick spawn beacons on A (theres a nice spot if you've been playing on CQ247 you'll have probably seen me using ;) ) and C and you can pretty much give roof campers the finger and dominate the map. Until the tower comes down that is, then its just boring and you don't have the C spawn to take the fight to roof campers :|

I mostly play solo to be honest - usually on "USC 24/7 Golmud Railway Madness", I'm in top 100 on that server; I play Golmud too much :D

But yeah, I should start playing with OcUK guys more - my only chance to play is at weekends though so I don't get a lot of time :( damn uni work...
