But leave mesh on ultra unless you want cover to randomly appear in front on you and texture filtering is anisotropic filtering which has no impact on FPS nowadays whilst it significantly improves how textures appear at an angle.

The last lighting option has the biggest impact on FPS. It creates shadows in what would be dark corners and gives the image some depth. I love it and refuse to turn it off but a lot of people don't really notice it and as such can be disabled for a nice FPS boost.

Still dropping under 60FPS. Should graphics be on DIRECT3D 11 or Mantle? It's default on DIRECT3D 11 for me.

I never seem to have much luck with Mantle lol...always seem to get fps drop outs when I have it activated ..yet I dont have that issue with DIRECT3D 11...but I do still try and see if I might get lucky with Mantle here and there :)

You can't really protect from a DDOS though. Unless they work out a way of computers not having to reply to your request then it's all about mitigating them.

Universities and various researchers have been taking about a new internet for along time. I agree with mynight, it's a difficult issue to resolve without rewriting one of the fundamental rules of the game.

I'll be getting a second 280x for Xfire when I find one at the right price. Then in a couple of months I'll be getting a 1440p monitor. Should fly at 1080p on xfire though!

I'm thinking of getting the Samsung 27D850D 27" Widescreen LED Professional/Gaming Slim Bezel Monitor. But don't know if it will work with my graphics card

I've found 13 levels to get to level 43 in the last few days with the bonus XP and some 200% multipliers in the Battlepacks.

I've unlocked pretty much all the specialist things for the different classes now. Do you have any recommendations of things to work towards now for a level 43?

Can any of you give some guidance please?

My brother is playing BF4 with the following spec:

3.2ghz quad core phenom 2
6gb DDR3 ram
GTX 550 Ti
BF4 - Med settings and AA off!

He's getting really bad stutter and isn't sure how to cure it. He's in the process of uploading a YT video to show the issue, but thought I'd ask while he's waiting for the upload to finish!

Here is the video - http://a.pomf.se/owhcbm.webm

The quality of the video does not represent the quality of the graphics settings used, this was to allow a quick upload.

I think just a combination of dated hardware to be honest. Simple test would be to just run the game as low as he can, and see if it still stutters. Then just gradually increase the visuals bit bit bit until he finds the sweet spot.

Weak CPU and weak GPU. Try low settings but see if you can get mesh on ultra.

I did wonder, will let him know!

You know when you get the achievement for playing 5 hours of Sims4 after never playing it before that you have been playing it too long.

Will be on tonight, DDOSers dependant. Need me some rank 131!

I've never really looked into monitors before. Hoping to pick up something half decent off the MM.

Most of the 1440p IPS monitors use one of 2 panels. Either an LG IPS or a Samsung PLS. They are very similar in terms of spec and how they look. Neither one is particularly unsuitable or suitable for gaming, but games will look really good.

Of course there is the ROG Swift but that is £600...
