the rog is supposed to be awesome. i know 144hz in fps games is a great leap but on my benq for eg the colours arnt great. i would look at the ips like you say and the rog.

Ill be coming from a pretty old but very high end VA panel in the fp241w. Not fussed on viewing angles as i sit right in front of the monitor, and have a 32" telly hooked upto the pc for streaming movies etc.

I'm not sure why but my GPU always goes haywire on metro drops down to 10% usage and I run at 1fps :confused:. Only ever seems to happen on that server.
 
I came to BF3 really late, so I have almost literally only played Nosehair Canals and Bazaar TDM. The exception is gunmaster, which truly is an exceptionally fun (silly) way to play, and I wish it would reappear in BF4.

I missed some of the BF4 ex pack launches - is chain or whatever it's called worth trying? I see only 'classis maps' servers mostly. Even searching for 'all maps' gives you servers that are literally conquest large, all vanilla maps.

People just get butt hurt that some players are better than they are. I do it now and again, I am ok at all the things in BF4 bar jets/helis, so when I meet someone that kills me repeatedly I first think "hacking git" then when I look at it, 99.9% of the time it isn't he has just gotten the better of me.

I had it with a [HEAT] bloke, can't remember his name but a Flood Zone map, he got the better of me 5 times in a row, I said some like "hack more" then I realised I had done the same push from the same point 5 times and he was playing a good position from a decent area with cover, 9/10 a good player will nail you from there. I said sorry and Ucav'd him 5 times to level things up, it all ended amicably in the end. Was just my frustration that let me down, not his ability or hacks.

Sadly people with 20h (example) in the game, don't realise the skills and awareness differences between them and people who have 700,1000,4000h in the game, they just think they can start up the game and bang 40-1 everytime, because the used to play BC2 or BF3 or COD etc

And when they can't instead of thinking, this player knows his stuff, they come out with the age old "hacker, aimbot, reported blah blah blah" - because they can't suck up the pride to realise, they got beaten.

To clarfy, I have asked Sabz who is the head of fairfight (I am in boombaby with sabz, known her from BF3) for info but she can't tell me anything regarding bans as this would put her in a awkward legal position that she is not comfortable being in (understandable). I can however report cheaters/ toxic people to her that can get banned.

HEAT are a Div 1 8v8 team and most of their players have been playing comp since BF2 / BF3 and as Josh said, if you keep getting killed doing the same thing over and over it's a flaw in your approach not the other player.

There aren't many "fun" modes in BF4, although I sometimes play Zombie mode (RussianBadger server) which is fun, although the servers always seem to be empty :(

Chainlink is sort of like a really fast conquest with more flags. It's quite hectic but also quite tactical.
I like playing maps from all the DLCs just for variety but lots of the OcUK lot only have the original maps.

not really a fan of conquest especially when it is base rape/easy games, just boring, don't get many kills, rounds are over too quick etc.

Yup, I wouldn't get any monitor without reviews, too risky these days.

Your current benq monitor is pretty old now and using a VA panel so any modern good IPS should be a very noticeable step up in regards to response time/motion clarity and input lag.

I do hope that these 144HZ IPS screens are much better for motion clarity, something that I am extremely sensitive too. That and better blacks (;)) is all I need!

They are definitely doing a 34" 3440x1440.

According to badass, they are looking at doing other versions too.

2560x1080 is ideal for 29" but not 34". I will need to get a new GPU for that res. though!

Not too bothered about curved VS flat when it comes to monitors, now for TV's, give me flat any day of the week!

Supposedly these 34" UW curved monitors add even more immersion though, however, come to photography/graphics work, they aren't ideal.

Just a shame it will be quite a while until we see these for sale though :(
