The beginning

2008 - SV650 Sport

Definitely TBC. I don't have that anymore. Next is something like a Sprint ST or F800ST at the moment.

EDIT: Oh sorry, re-read the question:

What: Friend wanted me to go on the back of his bike to Holland for some concert, I went out locally and decided I didn't want to be on the back of his bike for several hundred miles. The other option was take the car with some boring guys so I did CBT, liked it, did DAS, loved it. Bought bike, 3 weeks later Holland (rode to, didn't buy it), then when he went home I went off to Luxembourg on my own. Learnt a lot, such as they have nice roads, and drivers!

The TZRs seem to have been a popular option, glad I spent the time and effort on mine.

Got it given it not running as some tool fitted the powervalve 45' too far over. Absolutely love it

The first mod on mine I did was just stick hand up exhaust port and peg the powervalve open, went out for test ride and it felt gutless, she then hit powerband and omg, 22 odd bhp kicked in and I was on cloud nine.

Later got a YPVS servo kit from a breakers for the best of both worlds...

Mines got the full YVPS better power delivery with it over pegging it open, currently 132cc with the numerous rebores over its life.

Dam, that RD500 was my childhood dream bike, would be worth some money today....

Wish I still had it and it was mint :( Seen a couple on the bay of E for around 7K so not as bad as you think.

It was probably the most scary bike I have EVER ridden. Shedloads of power, even though it only had 88 BHP but it was one continuous powerband, the frame twisted under heavy acceleration and the handing wasn't anything to write home about. It was a utter wheelie monster.

As a watercooled V4 it was way ahead of its time but the chassis technogy wasn't there to do it justice as a mass manufactured bike.

Still loved it though ;)

My biking history a little shorter than most.

Passed my test on 2nd May 07. 1 hour later I had bought:

07 Kawasaki Z750. 18 months later chopped it in for
04 Kawasaki Z1000. Chopped it in as soon as this hit the market
10 Kawasaki Z1000.

I've recently ordered well over a grands worth of slash cut pipes and carbon. Will post soon.

FYI: All time little boy poster pic: Suzuki RGV250.

Never did get to ride one though :(

Mine is very short. Passed May 2008, and went out and bought a new bike:

2008 Kawasaki Z1000.

Hankering for a change now...

I think some folk have forgotten there first chicken chaser !!!

First ever bike was a C90 chicken chaser. :D
I still have a scar on my left palm from when I went over the handle bars & hit a fence hands first. :p

Ok...what bike got you started in biking and when?......i started in 1978 on a Suzuki X7...in those days you could learn on a 250cc and X7`s and RD 250`s were the weapon of choice with my mates.

That takes me back, i had one of these back in 1981 in red, bought it new from John Wllsons in Middlesbrough, absolutly loved it, i've been pricing up X7's lately with a purchase in mind as long as the wife will allow it

EDIT> First bike was a Yamaha FS1E-DX (unrestricted)

Do you remember the FS1E speed war lads would start off at, mine does 55 then 60 then 65 then 70 :D, they make very good money now.

I think every FS1E rider wanted their FS1E to go faster that everyone elses, those where the days, i payed £130 for mine, it would probably be worth anything from £1000 > £3000 now, i wish i'd kept it.
