The best free program to clone a ssd

Macrium will do it. You can set the size of each target partition. You may need to select them one at a time instead of all at once.

You can also extend the partition when you get into Windows using disk management.

Used Macrium Reflect 100's of times here :)

Just to high jack.

Cloned using Macrium Reflect. I did all the BIOS and about to remove the old SDD (120GB) but noticed the new SDD (512GB) has been cloned as a 120GB leaving the rest of the space unpartitioned. I don't want 'another' partition I want to clone but show as full 512gb (or whatever is left over). Had a look thought the settings for Macrium Reflect but can't see a setting to do this? Help.

Just leave as is, as long as you have the partition. Boot to windows and use Disk Manager to extend the 120gb Partition to 512gb.

Annoyingly I can't extend as the clone is the same as the original - a System Reserved, the NTFS Primary and then a 540mb which Disk Management is calling a Recovery Partition then the Unallocated space. Disk Manager doesn't allow extends unless it is next to the unallocated.

Does it let you remove the Recovery Partition?

I find that nearly all software has it's issues and the best bet is to have a few apps on hand. The drive manufacturer usually has one, and of course there are a number of free apps lik ehte one already mentioned - Acronis.

I had an issue trying to clone my M2 drive. In the end I found out that the cause of my problems was I had created a MBR on the drive. When I changed that to GPT it all went smoothly using Macrium Reflect free edition.
