Well a recent game has inspired me to do this thread. Intros tend to be hard to remember because, well, they are mostly forgettable. These are not easily forgettable, how about yours?

1) Far Cry: Blood Dragon - To me, it blew me away and I want to just keep on replaying it!
2) Metal Gear Solid V - Weird, but amazing
3) Last of Us

Original half life is hard to beat, such a classic, seeing the facility before hell breaks loose,

honourable mentions to deus ex human revolution, quite liked that whole intro

Easily the most unforgettable and best intro I've experienced.

Makes the intros of ME2 and ME3 look feeble.

Consequently the ending of ME1 together with the credits song is also the best ending I've experienced.

I was going to mention this, old game but the intro is still ingrained in me.

Bob Page: Why contain it? Let it spill over the schools and churches, let the bodies pile up in the streets. In the end they'll beg us to save them.

Walton Simons: I've received reports of armed attacks on shipments. There's not enough vaccine to go around, and the underclasses are starting to get desperate.

Bob Page: Of course they're desperate; they can smell their deaths, and the sound they'll make rattling their cages will serve as a warning to the rest.

That bit always sticks with me.

I really hope they redo the original game fleshing out the plague, etc. aspects for extra atmosphere.

Hard to pick one, here's a few I'd say were amazing:

Bioshock: From the plane to arriving in Rapture was so well created. The intro set up the game perfectly.

Arkham Asylum: Walking with Joker through the Asylum until he escapes. His ranting and ravings, the warden announcements in the background, inmates banging on their cells, meeting croc and the drab and cold feel of the place; the whole piece was fantastic.

Portal 2: Waking up to the automated announcement service, to meeting Wheatley and getting dragged around in your collapsing room was great. It had loads of humour, some impressive physics for the time, and set up the game brilliantly.

Half-Life 2: I mentioned this in another thread as my favourite quote in any game ever (G-Man's "Wake up and... smell the ashes" speech). The speech, the train station and then opening those double doors into the sunshine.

I find long and convoluted intros quite annoying and just want to get into the game. Survival mode on the Division makes you watch every time you play which is really annoying.

Press F to skip. I've played loads of Survival and have never watched it.
