The best ISP is?

Why would you want Virgin cable o2/be offer better alround service and do help customers when they have trouble not try and blame customers PC or screw up billing and don't care.

What do you really want from your service they both are the same company but offer different pricing and packages.

Cable isnt available in my area unfortunately.

Why would I want virgin cable?

Let me put it this way:

As I only get 4mb on adsl and virgin vable offer 10mb, 20mb and 50mb...

So again you ask why would I WANT cable?

;)

lol I knew people was going to have a go at the guy who recommended virgin. Saw it a mile off. It's always the same.

Just because you may have got bad service on it doesn't mean everyone receives the same bad service.

I have a few friends on it and they havent had any problems. One had a fault when it was first installed but it was up and running very fast.

Personally I would love cable but I live too far out to get it. Maybe 2020 lol

Yea it's luck of the draw at the end of the day. No ISP can please everyone.

I personally couldn't be happier with my cable connection. I know some people in my area who can't get cable so they have gone the Be/02 route. I can safely say that cable out performs Be/02 (In my area).

I'm not saying this is the case in all areas because that wouldn't be true, but you get the idea.

Even if I could only get what you do on adsl I would still choose o2/be over virgin anyday just due to the quality in customer service and virgin really don't know how to bill people right.

llu will get you bit more speed then adsl max does anyway so you may jump up to 6 or 8

I am with newnet, so far so good. Speeds maxed and very reliable so far.

Only thing is they are a bit tight on the bandwidth!

I've just gone onto o2.Went from rubbish sky.
On sky my download was 2 meg, upload just under half and my ping to the speedtest server in london was 174ms.
Just done a speedtest with o2 and these are the results
Quite a lot better.I was also told my max upload on my line would be 4meg with a normal isp.Seems much better with o2 and this ADSL2+ they have.

Say what u want...I am on Virgin Media...using their amazing 50Mbps service...how many of you can say you can get upto 6MBps download speed? :D ahhhh the ability to download a 4GB file in 10min...SWEEEEEEEET :D

I have been with Virgin (even when they were Telewest) since 2005 and have never had any issues regarding speeds. My only one gripe with them is their admin service when it comes to payments...thank God its not like that anymore...

of course if they were not around then I would go with either Be or O2 (seeing as I am an O2 contract mobile customer) :D

Switched from Tiscali to Be and couldn't be happier. Speed went from 1 meg to 5+ meg & the customer service is a lot better.

Being the first to mention V****N.

Wishing i hadn't, especially as you can't get it anyhow.

Regarding their customer service - few complaints sorted within billing. But in 4 years rock solid. And my adsl service would be very slow 1.5-2mb.

Ok they cap downloads but so what. 2mb max adsl or 10mb-50mb simple choice in my situation. When virgin trial 200mb makes adsl2 a poor relation.

So can't really complain about Virgin. Each to their own.

Definately use a cashback checker site before you sign up anywhere you may get a cash incentive to sign up too.

Since I paid £18 for the entire year with O2, I'll 'struggle' with their 12Mbits (All I can get), and whilst I'm waiting the extra few mins, I'll think how to spend the £400+ I've saved for the year :D

I think from the non-virgin providers, you really can't beat O2/Be (Same infrastructure) as long as your exchange has O2/Be LLU'd..

Other then that, Virgin, or Zen perhaps, but get your money out!

Sounds a good deal -must admit price wise, and 02 are good. Wish i could get the speeds you can at that price.

i've had virgin/telewest since they first offered broadband back in 2000/1 in all those years i think i've had about two major problems but i really cant complain. i can get it in my new home as well which is a plus. only thing i have to decide is if i want sky tv or virgin tv!
