** THE BEST MEMORY DEAL IN THE UK: KINGSTON BEAST 2400MHz 8GB KIT @ £45.99 Inc. VAT!! **

SA, IOA, IOD all ramped up to 1.2v with no joy, DRAM up to 1.7v no joy, will fiddle with PCH next, then its onto new F8 bios and then X02 LN2 bios, IF those don't help then the giga boards getting scrapped for an M6E.

On the plus side I've had a single kit up to 2500mhz C11 no problem.

Mine arrived today and were black PCB, I'm pretty sure they were from the 300 that Gibbo mentioned as they were despatched on that day I think.

They look really smart, the pics don't do them justice. Can't wait to get the rest of the parts now.

Well I've got 16GB working @ no overclock, 1333MHz speed

Attempting to deviate from that gives many results on the theme of "nope"

Previous memory was 4x2 @ 1600MHz on a 4GHz OC

Back to the bios!

Bit worrying as PGI is having issues as well, hope it's a one off so to speak, rather than poor ram?

Some CPUs don't like higher speed RAM, my computer would occasionally crash when I had 2400MHz Trident-X RAM but worked fine at 2133MHz. I error checked the RAM multiple times to ensure that wasn't the problem. I'm not able to try my kits until next week but I realise I may have to run it at 2133 to get it to work properly. At this price though I'm still happy :)

The IMC on a lot of CPUs will struggle with 4x4GB @ 2400MHz that some are going with.

I bought this RAM originally with the intention of running 2133 with tight timings which they do pretty well but have to chuck a load of voltage at the VTT/IMC(VCCSA) to get 2400 stable (I don't run them at 2400) and I'm fairly sure thats the IMC on my 4820 struggling. (They seem to have been designed to work on an older i7 chip than haswell/4xxx as the default profile has 1.3+v memory controller data embedded which would be waaay too much for current generations of i7).
