The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

how many people actually pay 15 ******* pounds for a PPV these days?

That's the problem though. In the US WWE has no affiliation with tv stations for PPV - so taking PPV to the network in the US doesn't affect their tv deals. That's why Raw and Smackdown aren't on the network in the US. TV stations are scared of streaming - it alters their model. Sky themselves have been incredibly slow to start their own streaming service - miles behind the iPlayer for example.

Moving the PPVs to a network in the UK would mean that Sky would be competing with WWE for PPV sales - effectively competing with their own product. Legally there is no problem with that - but why would Sky sanction that? Because it might be good for some wrestling fans? Get real!

Sky probably waited until the day of the network release to make this announcement so it would have the largest impact possible.

I would rather have the full network, and I can't say I like what Sky has done, but you can't really argue that they don't have the right to protect their business. WWE wouldn't have anything like the reach it does in the UK without them - and so they'll basically have to agree with Sky.

Watching some Jericho return videos on YouTube and they are just incredible. Looking forward I can't see any current 'superstars' who will get the same feeling going when they take a break and return in their career in the future. Different era and all that I know, but still. Maybe Dolph but I never liked the Vickie Guerrero thing.

Just been listening to some old themes on youtube, some great, some ridiculous, but definately a sadly missed time for me!

Videos in spoilers.

And of course, everyone has a guilty pleasure one!

I went to the newcastle one last night, me and my friends kept heckling the heels, got reactions of them as well, of them staring straight at us and pointing. Tyson Kidd was the best at it, played a long hell of a lot, lot of respect for him now

I remember a house show I went to in 09, I thought the section I was in was gonna have a mass brawl.

DX came down to the ring, the vast majority of the O2 wanted to stand up. It was either stand up or watch matey boys back in front of you. Few aggy families and fans hurling abuse at each other, it got quite heated in the end. Luckily it didn't kick off. Weirdly I've never had that at the live shows.

Bah, missed this!

These seats weren't as good as the ones I had last time - folk kept standing up/on chairs meaning we couldn't see much, even when stood up as well! :/

Block 56 next time :D
