Cyclists should be towards the middle of the lane, it is dangerous for them to hug the kerb. Also he was overtaking parked cars and trust me you don't want to cycle into a door opening from said parked cars.

Cyclist was a knob in this video but he has a very valid point, motorised vehicles should give cyclists plenty of space when overtaking.
 
That cyclist video is so good. Car driver was clearly having a very bad day. I laughed so much every time I saw the bemused passenger sat there. The faceplant is obviously the highlight though.

Does anyone know if anything ever came of it? Did the cyclist go to the police? Surely they would tell him he shouldn't have pursued/wound the driver up so much.

That did actually happen to me and if a cyclist hits the inside panel of a swung out car door then the door is going to be flat against the car in the wrong direction.

While the door was collapsing it deflected the bike sideways enough to knock me off. Could have been worse (e.g. run over afterwards) but it was much like any other fall.

Bike wasn't damaged, tyre must have transmitted all the force without damaging the wheel and I got away with a light thigh bruise. Door hinge, door panel and the body panel it connected with were wrecked.

I'd recommend it as much as going round a corner with wet leaves on the ground but I must have missed out on the more traumatic version you're thinking of.
