Plenty of real ale pubs on king street including one that doesnt have a beer or bottle I recognize in it, that ones a goodun! right opposite a chinese and an indian...its perfect!

The chinese and indian may sell the street more than the real ale

Oceana could be negotiated if people aren't up for it. Not everyone is the dancing fiend that Gilly is Can always stay in late pubs etc or find somewhere else if need be, there's plenty of palces open late in Bristol so not a problem

Like Baddass has said, things can be switched round on the night. A lot of it does depend on how the group of people feel at the time, in past meets there's been a slight change of plan, for example because no one feels like clubbing and are having fun just sitting in a pub, etc.

Not exactly like we'll be 'tough, we're going here between these hours and that's that'

Tbh, if you were thinking of coming to a meet just for the music, you'd be missing out a hell of a lot of the point of meets anyway.

Agreed. Personally, if pubs were open as late as clubs I would stay in the pub all night. The fun of the meets is getting the crack and talking to the other forum members there. As it goes, if it were to turn out everyone wanted to go clubbing I would go along as that's where everyone would be. Music isn't the be all and end all (this is coming from someone who hates certain types of clubby music) at meets, far from it.

Well that pretty much summed up exactly how I feel but better put than I probably could have phrased it

Wouldn't we be better off in a bar/pub with a late licence and a dancefloor for those so inclined? How late does the Greenhouse stay open?

A lot of it is going to come down to what people feel like at the time because it'll be late-ish anyway, don't really see much point in making strict decisions for that late in the night because everyone will be together by that point and you're all adults not school children . Like I said earlier, if suddenly everyone feels in the mood for say, karaoke, clubbing or curry, then I'm sure that can be arranged. We'll have a lot of choices basically.
The most important thing is the meeting place which has been arranged and a rough idea of where we're going after which I think's been given.

At the Newcastle meet we found a nice pub on the waterfront with a beer garden which was open late and decided we would rather stay there than go to a club - we had a bloody good night.

That was a good meet, the evening was pretty relaxed and no-one felt under any pressure to try to keep to a set formula - we just went with the flow and had a great time.

Going with the flow is pretty much what I've been considering Although Baddass is right that I probably could have phrased it better, didn't realise there'd be such a backlash though! Personally I'll probably be quite happy either just sitting and talking till late, going to a cheesy club or doing something else, I'm going for the people rather than the events so it doesn't really bother me.
