The BumblBuild-[Scratch Build]

Nice build man. Wish I had the time an patience to to a scratch build, don't let the leaks put you off hard line as it's much smarter than flexible tubing, oh and you gotta love ek man, those blocks. Keep up the good work

It's been a long time in the making, probably over a year :O
I still have the renders from my first design I sent parvum, it was so different back then :p

It does look much better with hardline.
and ek blocks are top quality, I'll need to take some better pictures this weekend

That frames looking great!, was it difficult to get it square and level?, btw would love to see the case with all the panels on it

it was a bit tricky, but I started with very accurately cut metal.

So 12mm up on both sides was level, pillar drill with a nice clamp and triple checking the center punch left a side as level as I could hope for really

You and me both :p
Panels aren't finished design, and I'm probably going to buy them after a bit of time.
Cables are the next step, to get all the fans running :D

Hey, This is great! & nothing wrong with your photo skills mate...
& your using hard tubes, going to be asking you for tips when i start to use them as it will be my 1st time :D

Now, 290x cards, I was thinking of selling my 7970s & getting a 295x2 or 2x 290x cards like yourself, but then i thought maybe if i keep 1 7970 & crossfire that with a 295x2?
What do you think mate?

Would they even be able to crossfire? I thought you could crossfire a R9 290x and a 295x2, but not a 7970 as it isn't from the same GPU family?

Correct me if i'm wrong.

think your correct, its the matrix 7970 & 280x that use the same waterblock & can crossfire i think.

Yeah, that would work as the 280x is essentially just a rebranded 7970 :D.

Sorry for the thread hijack. You case panels do look the biz!

Hey,
I was totally planning on inputting to this discussion when I got home from work, then you'd already resolved it and I never posted, sorry :p

Welcome aboard deblow, nice to see a name like yourself here, your builds are inspiring (especially when I started out)
Any questions on bending and I'll try and help :D.

No worry about hijack, Thanks :) I'm dying to get the rest of them now :D

So,
Exciting times!!
A wee package came in for me today:
h2P6h6j.jpg

Last one :D

Now this means draining the loop and more bending but hey ho :p
I will probably not do it tonight, as I need to work on the pump->rad connection, need some of than e22 tubing.

Once these are in I can get some lovely Mayhems in the old girl :)

Also looking into pulling the trigger on the sleeving supplies to get that all prettied up :)

Last but not least I will hopefully have a picture heavy surprise for people in the near future ;)

Stay tuned and thank you for reading!!

Good to know you got the last radiator :D

I have bought 99.5% of the stuff now, bending is next :D cant wait :P

i only have to buy some hard drive holders and a dust kit then its all here :D

yours is awesome :D good luck with the next stage of bending :D

Thanks,
it's exciting having it all there and ready to go :p

I learned today that the rads went under a revision, and I have one of the first gen, and 3 of the second....
It's alright, EK have pointed me to how to make them the same, but dunno.
Hardline's all in and I'd rather not complicate things if I don't have too :p

What are the difference between them? Is it quite noticeable or just really subtle?

Hope your bending goes well!

They have different colour G1/4 extensions:
IE8eMX3.jpg

But EK sell the other colours, so if it annoys me I can replace it :p

More tubing arrives tomorrow, I might put it all together then,
Might wait till the weekend

They look good,
I'm a bit annoyed but I'm not gonna complain :p

It looks like you'd be able to remove the extender and plug one of the ek fittings straight in.
So got me thinking of replacing the monsoon with these bad boys for a flush clean look:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-589-EK&groupid=962&catid=2776

But short of EK sponsorship/someone buying loads of secondhand fittings I'm not replacing this now :D

Thanks :)

It looks very well done!, im planning on a scratch build this summer, full ally, getting as much research done as possible for design ques and ways to get it done. I'm continuing to keenly follow this log.

Nice one mate!:D

Hello hello everyone.

I've had a couple of upsets, more stuff being bought this week, last of the fans, odds and ends, hopefully the cabling things :D

So, Things that have changed:

New desk! (something that can support the case :p )

(And that's a 22" monitor next to it, for a sense of scale :p )

New and last radiator in:

GPU all hardline'd in now
Messy leak test shots:

Not as straight as it could be, but I can live with it for now:

Tube focus:

Needs fans :( but Tuesday for them :)

In other news, contacted people about getting some filters, not that that matters when there's no roof :p

Next task is getting her cables all prettied up :)
Also the last tube run (pump to rad) which I need ANOTHER fitting for, which comes Friday, will get done and I'll get some lovely Mayhems fluid in :)

Until next time :)

Hello hello,

Here we are with another update :D

So the final tubing run which was holding me back was the Pump->Rad run.
And here we are:

90xRsg7.jpg

My new fitting came and made it all possible :)

I think it's coming together nice, I'm really happy with the parallel line look.

And last but not least, the loop being finished allows me too.........

Fill it with swanky fluid :D!!

QyoBmmG.jpg

That ends this weeks update :)
Next week should be the cable attack, maybe more surprises ;)

Until next time :)

Love the pastel yellow!

1 GPU looks lost in there, I'm sure you could squeeze another in ;)

Haha, don't tempt me ;)

but in all seriousness I'm pretty tapped out for this build :(
Budget's been stretched twice now and it's still not done :p
It's gonna get a soundcard at some point. My peripherals need updating.

And quiet frankly, I want this build done so I can start the next one :D
