The Callisto Protocol (2022) (from the creator of Dead Space)

Yeah GOW Ragnorak has fantastic HDR implementation. After experiencing HDR properly on select titles since the ps4 pro came out sdr games just don’t cut it and there’s simply no excuse for raised black levels. Cannot understand how the reviewers and especially digital foundry ignore this. I guess it’s because most games have them so they’d be out of a job if they were honest. I guess that’s why they stopped their hdr analysis videos.

Played a few hours of this tonight, was looking forward to it really but it is not really grabbing me at all. It all seems very dull, slow and not very engaging. Also seems very janky not sure if it just me but even in performance mode its just like controlling a tortoise. Coming off the back of GoW: Raganarok I was probably spoilt :o

I always wonder with games like this at which point do those involved in production realise they have an absolute turkey on their hands? And at this point are they too committed to release dates to reign it in? Would love to know what the budget was. According to wiki it was only the 6th best selling game in the UK of that week!

Quite literally just finished this game and watching the credits - I never played Dead Space so I can't compare it to that.

Overall, I enjoyed it but I had to drop to minimum security (difficulty) level as I found some of the enemies too hard to beat on a higher difficulty.

I played it on a PS5 and thought the graphics were excellent and it ran smoothly. I thought the story was average, nothing special but not too bad. My main gripe was the clunky, slow movement of the character. This made combat incredibly unsatisfying and frustrating as the controls didn't react quickly when trying to reload, aim or change weapons.

I'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. Not as good as I thought it would or could have been but nowhere near as bad as some of the negative reviews claim!!!

Feel the same. 6 or a 7 but by no means terrible.

Not quite sure why all the hate with this one. Personally I enjoyed it. Game had some annoying moments sure, but overall not a terrible game. Like most games now days, one to wait for a price drop.

Really enjoyed this game. I’m surprised it’s getting disliked so much. Only issue I had with it was the dodging mechanic. It just looks comedic after a while and if you do it right you just don’t get hit. Other than that I thought it was great and it looks absolutely stunning.

Dead space remake next.

I think the problem was that it wasn’t anything new. I thought it was ok but nothing that Dead Space or Resident Evil hasn’t done many times and better at that. When you play the dead space remake you will see how much was ripped off(yes I know some of the original designers were involved) CP just wasn’t polished to the extent that DSR was and a couple of the later levels seem rushed.
