Great looking car the facelift XF.

I don't wax every week.

Once a month at most. Depends on the wax too, some last longer than others.

I usually waxed every week. I'll see how the wash goes, if the water beading is as it is then I'll leave it. I bought some RimWax too and OMG it smells so nice. I want to massage it all over my body.

What is the best way to completely clean my cream leather seats? In a couple of places there seems to be some ingrained dirt.

I'd also appreciate tips on how to properly clean my alcantara headlining :)

The yellow Megs foam ones, no need for more elaborate (and expensive) applicators.

The velcro ones that give a better hand grip seem nice though because waxing on and waxing off (:D) does tire the fingers from keeping them in that same position for ages :p

Edit*
Ray, use a decent wax then you will only need to wax once a year or maybe twice at a push :p Tsk tsk!

The XF is great looking but that pathetic exhuast just ruins it. It just screams 'I have the 4 pot diesel'. I don't know why its so obvious on the XF, I think its because on the other models the pronounced twin exhuasts are such a big feature of the rear of the car.

I am not sure how long that G3 still last so I've topped it up a couple of weeks ago, it's too new a product (came out in March) on the market to know, only what is claimed so I am just playing it safe.

Do the sheeting test every few weeks until it no longer passes the test ;) That will confirm how long it lasts!

Really quick and easy test:

Red car's wax (generic) has gone, silver (Colinite) is still there, water just sheets off. You should also be able to palm rub the paintwork after drying fully and feel the paint be buttery smooth, if there's any friction then wax may be needed. if there are any tiny dimples being felt then you sir need a claybar!

Would definitely agree with you there. It must be down to some sort 'symmetry is good' mentality. :p

And to be honest, his old Jag XJ 2.7 Sport premium was a better car in so many ways. I would go as far to say it was a better: cruiser, more classic jag styling, build quality/interior/leather, aluminium body(so lighter than any of the XF models), faster, and bloody hell you just realise how much of a difference air suspension makes in a car like that. Even with 20" wheels compared to the XFs 17" the difference in ride comfort is like night and day.

I just know that somebody got a cracking deal on that XJ when it was traded in for £14k little over a year ago. :(

Lovely car there ! so he has the new graphic dials? that you can change to suit ? get your Father to fit the Spires comfort suspension to his xf ;) Jaaaaaaag ;)

Where's the best price to get some Iron-X? Amazon is pretty steep at £19 but I've found it for £10+ ~£4 P&P on cleanyourcar.co.uk. Anywhere cheaper? (500ml bottle)
