How to give a white car the best shine?

To White car owners:

What's the best detailing products to use on a white car? I'm using HD wax at the moment followed by a top layer of Glaze for that wet look. I've used Zaino's final spray as well which helps for 2nd day applications after you've wiped off the over night dust with a quick detailer. Gives it that shine back if you know what i mean.

Not sure if that is the best solution though, so what do you guys use or do to get the best shine from your white cars?

I'm sorry if this has been asked about 500x in this thread guys but I got back as far as page 90 or so and can't find the info I'm after.

I want to treat my civic to a proper wash and wax and all the other bits and pieces.....

Am I right to think

Rinse
Snow Foam
Rinse
Wash
Rinse
Dry
Clay Bar
Rinse
Wash
Dry
Polish
Wax

?

If so could you please suggest me where to get some semi reasonable value products for each of those stages? I'm just about to invest in a pressure washer, I assume Karcher are ok?

Thanks for any help :)

From what you have listed:

Rinse
Snow Foam
Rinse
(optional bug and/or tar remover application here)
Wash
Rinse
Dry
Clay Bar (wipe off the detailing spray as you go with a mf cloth)
(optional IPA wipe down stage here only if a cutting and filling polish or a polish of any type designed to be left on before final finish is going to be used)
Polish
(optional IPA wipe down stage here only if a pure cutting polish has been used)
Wax/Sealant

Thank you for your reply mate. I was looking at the magifoam but read in this thread that the foaming lance from cleanyourcar was pretty good so am wondering if I should buy their foaming liquid instead also.

I saw some good polish or wax listed on detailing world (was two letters and numbers I believe?)

Thanks again

Get the autobright lance (groupbuy from detailing forums). I got it and magifoam package deal. Lasted me quite a while. Think it's still running.

Also if the mutibuy is still on in halfords get your self down there and stock up.

Zymol shampoo I highly recommend. It's under £5 quid and leaves a nice deep clear shine after washing.

you can pick up some of the autoglym cleaning products while you are there.

As for waxes and sealants the world is your oyster.

Drying my car is the hardest thing about the whole wash. So am going to invest in a whoolymammoth from cyc

Whats the best drying product? The GF has recently got a metallic blue car which when washed in a typically hard water area ends up looking 10x worse than it was when we started and leaves very visible almost impossible to shift watermarks all over the car. I was amazed at how bad it is - I had to resort to clay in one case to get the marks back off.

Are there any tips for a simple and easy way to avoid this without turning every quick car wash session into a 3 hour OCD special?

Honestly the worst cleaning product I own. The amount of fibres it leaves all over the car is just daft.

I genuinely prefer my CYC branded "fluffy" microfibre drying towel.

really?

bugger maybe I invest in a sidekick then lol as I have a blue one with red linning and I find it was alright at the start but it pretty much leaves a lot of water behind unless I rub which i don't want to do

Ok so I ordered the lance and magifoam along with some of the autoglym polish.

I've already got some meguiars gold class which I'd like to make the most of before having to change or looking to do so.

So if I go -> Rinse -> Magifoam -> Rinse -> Meguiars Gold Class (2bucket) -> Rinse -> Claybar -> Rinse -> Wash -> Rinse -> SRP -> ?

The last bit - do I want something that is a wax or a sealant, which brings the best results on a black car?

Is the autoglym super gloss protection any good or should I be looking at something else?

Yep that method is the correct way.

Good thread regarding wax choice. There are countless options out there, and really you need to try a few to really find out what works best for you and your car. But the final list at the end of the OP is a good list.

Any preference on here between the autoglym High Def Wax or the Collinite 915? The 915 comes with a lot more product at a lower cost?

I use http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb-luxury-drying-towel-cat5.html. Three of our current cars are black, and in a hard water area it's not fun at all :(.

Got some ultramousse yesterday, tried it out today, got a good foam, and it seemed to shift a lot of dried on muck, only thing is my foam lance appears to be a bit flaky and sometimes doesn't foam very well, doesn't look like anything is blocked and the washer has good pressure, anyone heard of anything similar?

Guys, I've just bought a new Fiesta ST2 and I want to make sure the paintwork is @ its best and kept at its best. What do I need, and where is best to buy it from?

Does anyone use Meguair's Endurance High Gloss on their Tyres?

Looks great when you put it on, but after a couple of days it's almost totally faded!

Wife asked me to clean the house whilst she's at work, instead, I've spent the whole day cleaning my car :D

Now to do a quick 30 minute power clean of the house
