Whats the best stuff to tidy up all the black trim/ rubbing strips on the outside of the car?

I've used AG Bumper Care which does a good job. Just ordered some AF Revive as I have read good things about it.

AG Bumper Care is good as LiE says, but Conscript had some Chemical Guys stuff last time I saw him that did a seriously good job, am sure he'll be along shortly to give a name for it :)

Vacuumed the car this evening for the first time in the year that I've owned it - It's been vac'd by the car wash near work every few weeks before you all think I'm a tramp :D

I'll tackle the outside tomorrow evening hopefully, now the weather is turning, I'm going to try and get a layer of wax on it to hopefully see it through much of the winter.

In all seriousness, peanut butter for a cheap fix

I want know who discovered that. Did they accidentally smudge peanut butter to their faded car bumper or did they have some PHD in plastics and peanut butter and a light bulb came on in their head and thought it would work. Lol

Anyway, I use PERL, it lasts about 4 to 6 months easy, just dilute it a fraction in a spray bottle and spray it on, wait a minute then wipe off. It's like magic. All black gain. Any excess you can use on tyres, wiper blade arms etc.

I presume peanut butter works because of the oils. You could probably use other oils too. I've got some AF Revive coming today which will be good to compare against AG Bumper Care.

A suggestion that doesn't get mentioned much - Plasticare Trim Dye.

I have used AG Trim coat, which works well at slightly darkening and makes trim bead but found on heavily faded the bumpers were back to grey within a few months. Used the trim dye and I was shocked how well it has worked, I don't know how long it lasts as only been about 6 weeks but everything is still super black so looking good. Also (though not personally tried) once the dye has dried you can apparently add the normal trim protectant too.

A Nice little 50/50 for you

Dat 50:50

Is that a good 'dat 50:50' or a bad 'dat 50:50'? I do have before and afters of te whole car which shows up the difference in colour of the bumpers but they are on my camera so don't have access while I am at work.

I haven't used anything else on your list but nice choice on those two :) It's the combination I used on my car until I decided machine polishing is much easier haha.

Quick question. I have a platinum grey Leon cupra TDI. Had a muffelerectomy done on it a few months ago.

Its a bit more smokey than before but what i have found is soot stains on the paint. I washed and clay barred the affected areas but it soesnt want to remove the stain! Any ideas of something I can try to get the marks off?

Thanks

Definitely a good one! The improvement that has made is incredible, keen to know how long it lasts.
