No worries. You'll be surprised when you first use a clay bar - even though your car might look clean, the clay bar really shows up just how much crap is still on the paintwork.

As Conscript says, be prepared for a shock when you realize just how dirty it still is!

Speaking of last weekend, I completely forgot you put RainX on my windows, washed the car today and spent 5 minutes just spraying them and grinning as the water fell off :D Also decided I wasn't content with the current beading, so added a 3rd or 4th (I lost count) coat of 476 :p

Hows the MX5 looking now? Any improvement under the lights at home?

Still the odd little scar here and there but MUCH improved swirl wise, thank you :)

I spent about 5 hours today give it a good clean again. Then gave it another coat of 476, cleaned the windows and use the Chemical Guys tyre dressing to tidy up some of the black trim. Looks fantastic now.

However I haven't had a chance to take any photos. Mind you, the gf has fallen asleep on the sofa so I'm thinking of sneaking out while the suns going down to have a quick drive and take a couple of shots.

Scouring Google Maps now and looking for ideas lol. There's always bluewater for a chavtastic carpark environment lol?

I was actually thinking about that, would be mostly empty now :D

I do prefer a nice scenic vista though.

EDIT: Tell you what, I'll head to BW. Then I might mooch off for a drive after. See how I feel. Which carpark did you take the photo in your sig from?

Ahh yes :D Outside House of Fraser in the second level, I'll jump in the car now and will text you when there, if you cant find me give me a ring. See you soon!

Nice impromptu meet :D Got more but here's a quick two:

Your shots are much better than mine :(

Will upload some in a bit.

EDIT: Just as I expected....as with most of my photography, I get back to a PC and find most of my shots are blurry, poorly exposed crap.
For what it's worth though, here's the pick of a bad bunch showing off today's cleaning efforts.

Still quite like yours, when we head to Ashdown then we can make sure you leave with some you're very happy with :)

Going to put the rest in "Show us your motors" if you see any you like then feel free to use, don't worry about re-hosting as I've got plenty of bandwidth too :)

Facelift E46 Coupe = best looking 3 Series ever, IMHO.

We said the same thing. A nice example like Vox's is a great looking car, very muscular and purposeful. And it's aged well I think.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be that many such examples - around here at least, a lot of them seem to be falling into the hands of idiots.

Gave the MX5 interior a vac and going over with PB Natural Look. Ordered some new mats from MX5Parts too, going to try rubber and see if they wear less.

Spent several hours working on the father in laws Saab 9-5, cleaning, polishing, waxing etc. Looks a million times better, but still needs work.
Just a shame its silver, as it just doesn't show the effort thats gone in to it like a darker colour would.

I find on my silver passat that it looks the best when it's sunny but the car is in the shade, the paintwork looks really glossy.
