TBH, Toker, that doesnt look anything special to me, thats the problem with white, just like silver, It doesnt really 'stand out' when you put loads of effort in.Its probabaly the pictures, but I'd have no problems in getting that finish with a £15 combo of AG SRP and EGP.

^ Looks good, could do with a nice new clean plate though :)

Also whats that top left of the engine bay?

Yeah I'll be sorting some new plates out over the next week or so. Its a rag in the top left. There are some pipes that vibrate and annoy me. Its just a temp fix until I can secure them.

if you can get that finish with srp and egp on white, I'd love to see it

Maybe he means equivalent on a black/blue car?

possibly, but you can get a good finish (to the untrained eye) on a dark car using a jizzy rag, then you look at it properly and see all the swirls and marring :p

not appreciating the achievement and work involved with a deep reflective gloss on candy white is uber fail

I havent got access to a white car:(

Might ask one of the local taxi blokes:p

To me the reason why that looks so good is that the base condition of the paint is so good, rather than any 'depth' the sealant is adding to my untrained eye.As I say its probabaly the quality of the photo which is decieving me.

White seems to be the majority colour in most middle eastern countries. I suspect this is due to the weather.

I spent about 4 hours looking at detail threads on DW and now I've got that itching feeling for a DA.

My car isn't so bad, and the front is so chipped I doubt I could get a rotary on that yet, but my mums Nighthawk Black Jazz is swirl and hologram heaven with a few minor scratches. I'd love to get it to a better than showroom condition.

Any tips on kit without killing the finances? Some of these branded rotarys are sometimes rebadged cheaper ones, is this still the case these days?

When i bought mine i went the same was as most 'first time' detailers and got a UDM with Sonus kit. Must have spent £500 on stuff for it, detailed a couple of cars and realised i have no-where near the ammount of time i need to use one, so i sold it on pretty much for what i paid for all of the kit.

If you look after your car, and use cleaning the products the way the DW guys use them, your better off paying to get it done, and then maintaining the good finish yourself.

The way I see it is there are 4 cars in the immediate family that will benefit from getting corrected. Paying to get that done on all 4 would probably far outweight the cost than buying the kit myself. Yes, I would spend longer and may only so 3/4 good of a job on my first go but other friends and family might catch on and I mightbe able to make a few ££ on the side (Which would be handy!), if only to cover the cost of the kit.

You also don't need to use a rotary for cutting and correction, you can use them to make topping up the polish/wax much easier with a normal pad and slow speed.
