Used:
AG Shampoo Conditioner, using 2 bucket method
Dried with Megs Water magnet
Megs NXT Tech Wax and Megs foam applicator pads
AG EGP.

Could do with a claybar and some machine polishing on the rear bumper. I cant seem to use a claybar properly though

Very nice Lupo! What's the BHP in that little monster?

Thanks :D

Its a 1.6 125BHP, all standard at the minute. Weighs less than a ton though, its a lot of fun, especially with the coilovers on!

The yellow one you can see in the reflection is the other halfs Lupo Sport, thats 100BHP.

Wow, that looks immaculate! It must have been machine polished at some stage as the rest of the car looks swirl free. White alloys really suit the car aswell :) Could do with some Autosol Metal Polish for the exhaust, just to finish it off ;)

I regularly give it the good news with SRP, and the Tech Wax is quite good at masking swirls. The problem I have is with stone chips, however I have some Dr Colourchip which I havent dared use yet for that!

Not been machine polished whilst I have had it, but it was previously owned by an enthusiast so may well have been. Going to get some Autosol for the exhaust, and adjust the hangers so it sits a bit higher.

strip all the LSP off it and stick it under the halogens

then you'll see the paints true colours (so to speak) this is the one peoples biggest gripes against detailing. You can easily fool people into thinking your car is perfect without any sort of machine polishing.

look at the reflections here

undearneath all that, shes a swirl monster. But you'd never guess from those reflections.

As long as the car looks clean and tidy I don't think swirls make much difference. It's only when you look closer do you notice them. Most of the people I've spoken to don't care about swirls. The roads are harsh in this country so perfect paint work usually doesn't last long. I know I wouldn't feel comfortable driving around with a freshly corrected car.

Finally got round to taking some photos after I cleaned the thing.. Not the best shots for showing the clean but its all I got from the day :p too busy driving and It didn't stay clean for long ;)

Megs Shampoo
Autoglym SRP
Poor Boys Black Haze
Poor Boys Blue Wax

ive searched both here, and detailing world about removing smoking smell from inside cars but the searches bring up totally random threads with nothing to do with car smells so...

...What would be the best way to get rid of the smell from the car? Parents getting a new (2ndhand) car and it had a slight hint of smoking smell. Its not extremely bad.

about the only thing ive heard of that completely removes it is a system by auto smart called Aromatek

Its very expensive (think several hundread pounds) so its not worth it by yourself, and people using the device seem few and far between as people are so sceptical about it.

Possibly worth asking on DW about anybody with a system who can use it on the car for a fee though.

If you can though, buy another car as its not easy.

thats what i said to my parents, plenty of other scenics around buy one that doesnt stink, but they fell in love with it..... :(

at least i wont have to suffer the smell much (rarely go out with them).

i nearly bought one, assuming its the newer shape ones, there arent that many options you can find on the higher spec Dynamique and Priviledge models

About the only option that really makes it worth is the panoramic glass sunroof. THeres other bits and pieces like parking sensors etc.. but these can be retrofitted easily enough.

Whats so special about it that they cant find another exactly the same in autotrader ?

will have to ask them that really i dont understand it. I almost had to force them to try a few others cars before buying that one. It was the first one they test drove and both wanted to buy it straight away. Silly silly.

Just had bargain of a lifetime;

Karcher KB6060

# 450 litres per hour.

# 130 maximum bar pressure.

# 125 rated bar.

Also had over £100 quid of accessories thrown in, including the T-Racer, brushes, etc extra which will come in handy for wheel arches etc

All for £110, now I know the washer is £230 + alone

The joys of working for B&Q (not that there are many, only part time ;) )

Anyway I have got some snow-foam on order will i be able to push this through the built in detergent tank?
