I'm not sure what single stage paint is. Yes its red, misano red Audi

I’m not sure either and after googling it still none the wiser.

Single stage paint is where there's no lacquer/clearcoat.

So rather than polishing away “Clear” coat on single stage it is essentially polishing away the paint layer but like clear coat you only have so much paint depth to work with.

So that dust/grit the other day. A load of sap has now landed on the car so the grit is essentially glued on. It either needs a good day of rain or 2-3 non-contact pre-washes. Literally worst case scenario. I’ll leave it for now, washing it runs far more risk of paint damage :p

Could you not call the detailer who polished and waxed your car for some clarification on the paint type? Would be useful to know so you can care for it accordingly.

I think since you have had the finish transformed you are wanting to maintain and improve it but I think the main thing to remember is polishing is usually to improve the clarity, remove defects and oxidisation etc so if the paint is already in a “Good” condition there is minimal gains to achieve.

Judging by your previous post of the finished results the car looks great, I would certainly focus on safe washing techniques to minimise adding any defects and to add protection as and when required, either a wax or a simple spray on wipe off detail spray/ceramic spray which will keep the car protected and add gloss usually known as a maintenance wash.

Only advice from a weekend warrior bare in mind.

There's no way an Audi from 2015 is using single stage paint, that's either had a repair or has been treated with a compound/wax with coloured pigments in it that match the paint colour of the car - something like T Cut Colour Fast.

Ceramic coating isn't a replacement for clear coat.

Yes I think the bonnet has been resprayed in the past and there is no clear coat on it. How do I go about getting that on? Im worried that after I washed it yesterday I might have taken off the protection the pro but on, or am I being silly here? I used turtle wax branded car wash that has wax built in it apparently.

If you don't fancy doing it yourself, I would ask a bodyshop repairs specialist

What do you people use to repair curb scratches on your alloy wheels? I've seen some all purpose kits the come with a filler, spray paint and a lacquer. I've got a couple of "dents" that are about 5mm long that I want to try and repair.
