Just spotted this in this week's New Scientist magazine (of all places)... The new RS-5 Cab:

Not a fan of the new roofed version but that cab certainly suits the slight styling changes of the old coupe.

The 2014 WRX 'concept'

If Subaru make the final product looking like this then I'll eat someone's hat (not a fedora, I'll burn that).

Gotta wait until September's Frankfurt auto show to get more details but that's stunning.

My initial thought with that 2014 WRX 'concept' was XFR-S

Not so sure with a direct side by side, but there are elements I think

I like the XFR-S a lot by the way...

Hmm I much prefer the WRX wheels, why Jag have gone the chav alloys route like most of the other makers I don't know. The previous XFR wheels were truly epic. Why do they do this, completely go backwards in alloy wheel design.

The WRX does look similar in parts to a new Merc though, I think it's a running trend now, get stuff looking like the Germans :p Which isn't a bad thing!

I agree. Seems to be a trend, along with two tone white-black alloys, neither of which I particularly like.

Sadly those xfr-s alloys are the only design available, the only option is to change the colour. At least the wrx is a concept, so things may get reigned in yet.

If I was in a position to buy an XF-RS then I'd demand the alloys be changed for the previous model XFR ones, if they decline then my business would go elsewhere.

It's the same with Aston Martin, why did they change to those god awful ones for the newer DBS when the previous one had such amazing alloys?

Boggles the mind.

Sorry but this is definitely car porn again.

The new GT-R:

TG say the changes are:
Another six months, another subtle tweak to the GT-R, another feeling that if you buy one, you're simply beta-testing for the next generation. Which will be along in a minute.

For model year 2013, Nissan's big hitter is still a 3.8-litre bi-turbo V6, but tweaked for increased responsiveness in the mid and upper rev ranges, the body is slightly more rigid than before, and the suspension has been tampered with for a better ride and more stability at high speed. The physical changes are gloriously tiny micro-engineering pornography, and include new injectors, a new pressure release valve for the turbos to help keep them on song, new oil-pan baffles, and revised spring and damper rates. The dash has been reinforced, as has the instrument panel, and there are even new cam bolts. Honestly.

Surprisingly, you can actually feel the differences. It rides noticeably better - especially at low speed in town - and seems to be less aggressive in the boost application, but no less fast. It still makes mincemeat of any traction situation (0-62mph is down to 2.7 seconds - down 0.1), and launches like it's been hit by a truck. It's brilliant, it's better, it's worth it. But only just.
