The Car Porn thread

Those Classic BMWs and the 8 series are lovely... I just cant see these most recent ones as being pretty or desirable cars. They're just so "meh"... may as well post a brown Volvo in here IMO. Not one of them would get a second look on the street.

I think you'll find those 8 Series are M1's

Good memory! Both the green one and the red / white striped one raced in the silverstone TT. My uncle restores group 2 CSL's for a living, those two are his retirement fund ;)

Odd really, but the cars that really stood out in that race for me we the 2 Zakspeed Escorts, they were incredible but I remember that the italian CSL won and I think one of the Escorts was 2nd.

Ah true. They're a nice departure from the stock BMW saloon look. I thought they were modified 8 Series E31s. Still don't get the car porn correlation with current BMWs - in my eyes it's like putting a Mondeo or a Vauxhall Corsa into the same thread. They're good cars but induce no lust what so ever. (Not suggesting that a Mondeo or a Corsa are comparitive to a BMW - just equally irelevant IMO)
