The cost of not upgrading to a 5870

and how much will it cost you to upgrade,
brand new you can get a 4890 for 126. brand new 5870 = 298 so
298 - 126 = 164
so assuming you can get full retail back for a 4890. which is pretty unikely then will take 3 years to start saving, and you will have changed the 5870 out before then. where is your saving?

The idle power issue is whats stopped me buying a second 4850.
I'm in need of more gfx power right now, and didnt want to spend quite as much as £175 (what I assume the 5850 will drop too next month), but the idle power figures have swung it.
I really dont like spending that much on a gfx card, but the idle power usage of 2x4850's will annoy me too much and not provide the same results.
