Too many boring threads recently, so hopefully this one will be entertaining and bring slight amusement... or at least that's the plan

There is a psychological game called 'the cube' and we are going to play it. This requires your full co-operation and concentration. Pay close attention at the back! The whole idea is that you subconsciously reveal some 'truths' about yourself by answering the following questions honestly. It might take a minute or three but it'll be worth it and we'll get a giggle out of some of the responses. At the end of my post in spoiler tags, I'll give you my answers and some other amusing ones I have heard.

VERY IMPORTANT:

If you want to do this properly, do not click on the spoiler explanations below or read any other posts before your have read the game and answered the questions yourself. You need to take a few moments to think to give a decent answer.

ONLY LOOK AT THE NEXT SENTENCE AFTER YOU HAVE SPENT SEVERAL MOMENTS ON THE PREVIOUS ONE AND DON'T LOOK AHEAD WITHOUT ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS IN ORDER. TAKE SEVERAL MOMENTS TO THINK AND BE HONEST WITH YOUR FIRST THOUGHTS. SPEND A MOMENT ON EACH SENTENCE

ANOTHER IMPORTANT POINT - all items you describe must be original!

So... here we go...

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Imagine nothing. Absolutely nothing.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Forget everything and everyone and concentrate on nothingness for a few moments
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

.
Done that?

Right, imagine a desert. This desert is the 'scene' for the entire game. And right in the middle of this scene is a cube.

PICTURE THE CUBE.

Describe the cube. What does it look like? Where is it (in the sky on the ground)? Is it big? Is there anything of particular interest about it? Think about it in detail and spend a few moments doing so.

---------------------------------------------------------------

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Now that you have described your cube, there is something else in the the scene.... a ladder.

PICTURE THE LADDER

Describe the ladder.
Where is it in relation to the cube? How is it positioned? Again, think about it in detail and spend a few moments doing so.

.
.
.
.
.

.
.
---------------------------------------------------------------

.
.
.
.
.
.

.
.
.
Once again, there is something else in your scene! This time.... a storm!

PICTURE THE STORM

Describe the storm. Where is it in relation to the cube? Where does it sit in the scene? Is it going anywhere?

---------------------------------------------------------------

.
.
.
.
.
.

.
.
.
.
.

You know the drill by now... there is again something else in your scene. This time out of all things.... a horse.

PICTURE THE HORSE

Describe the horse. What does it look like? What is it doing? Where is it in relation to the other things mentioned in the scene? Is there anything of particular notice? How do you feel about it?

---------------------------------------------------------------

.
.
.
.
.

Don't worry, it's the final thing. For the last time, there is something else in your scene... flowers.

PICTURE THE FLOWERS

Describe the flowers in your scene. As always, where are they? How do you feel about them?

That's it! You have finished the game. Click on the first spoiler below for some 'analysis' :)

Underneath with the second spoiler, you will get the shocking truth behind my own answers
So what was that all about?

Well, the idea is that each of the 'items' represents something about you as a person. I'll go through one by one in turn:

THE CUBE:
If you didn't guess, the cube represents yourself and how you view yourself. A big cube might represent arrogance or self importance, whilst a smaller cube might represent insecurity. A cube on the ground represents level headedness whilst a floating cube might indicate a dreamer or a flounderer, and so on and so forth.

I have heard of all sorts of cubes, big floating ones, see through ones, tiny ones etc and it's surprising how it sometimes links up to what your impressions are of that person. Oh and yes, I added in the line in the instructions about items being original because so many people ruin the game by saying it's a rubics cube, gits :p

The LADDER:
The ladder represents your ambition. Most notably, if the ladder was close to your cube, this would imply that your ambitions are linked to who you really are as a person, particularly if the ladder and cube are touching. A flat ladder or a ladder far away might imply that you aren't really sure on where you are going with yourself.

THE STORM:
This is the easiest one to guess, the storm represents you worries and troubles and how they affect your life. Did your storm cover the entire horizon? This might imply that you are letting your worries consume you. On the other hand, one girl I knew said her storm cloud was a cartoon one with a smiley face...!

THE HORSE:
Ok, now it gets interesting! The horse represents... your lover or love interest! Like the ladder, the proximity to the cube is key and it's pretty easy to start doing some analysis depending on what the horse is doing. For example, I've heard of horses climbing the ladder to mount the cube! For the other end of the spectrum... see what I answered below :o

THE FLOWERS:
Finally, the flowers represent your children, or prospective children and what you think about the subject. Knowing I was going to play the game, I asked someone what they thought about having kids and they loathed the idea... I was fairly amused that when playing the game they described their flowers as "all dead"

Type up what you thought and what you think it means :)
Oh dear, this really was incredibly miserable. The game was done to me face to face with icecold (OCUK member)... the look on his face when I answered some of these questions was truly priceless :D

These are typed up to the best of my knowledge as how I said them:

MY CUBE:
"Well, first, it's very very small. Tiny. And it's pitch black. The blackest of blacks"
"... errr..... anything else"
"Yep. I know that it's incredibly heavy. Nobody could possibly pick it up"

MY LADDER:
"The ladder is flat on the floor, lying across the sand horizontally. It's somewhere in the distance, near the horizon"

MY STORM:
"Yeah, it's covering the entire sky. Big, black, brooding. Thunder and lightning, really violent. Where's it going? It's not going anywhere, it's there to stay"

MY HORSE:
"It's off in the distance again. It's a dot on the horizon, walking away from the cube"
"...............! Anything else"
I swear to god I did not make this up - "yeah, I know one thing for sure. I know it's going to die"

MY FLOWERS:
"There are a few of them scattered all over the place, but they're all dead"
"All dead"
"Yep! Pretty horrible really"

This was the end of the conversation:
"So... what does all that mean? What have you got to tell me? :)"
"........ dude..... you really need to go and see a shrink......"
":("

Enjoy :D

MY CUBE:
Well it's fairly big

MY LADDER:
The ladder is in the the middle of the horizontal bit of the cube going vertically to the top of the cube

MY STORM:
Just on top of the cube

MY HORSE:
On the left of the cube

MY FLOWERS:
On top of the cube and red

Don't think it worked, does not sound anything like me..

I got a small cube, with a ladder laying next to it. A storm all over and the lightning kept hitting the cube. The horse was circling the cube and ladder. The flowers were on top of the cube.

Pretty accurate to be honest.

I thought of a large cube on the ground which was transparent.
The ladder was mounted at the side of the cube, reaching the top.
The storm was inside the cube.
The horse was to the left of the cube surrounded by loads of beautiful flowers.

o_O

dark black with a radial grey/blue affect as the sky almost like night. neon with light blue cube. ladder leading to cube inside with fron hollowed out. lightining storm in distsnce past black moutains, black sleek/clean horse going through dirt trail far right. flowers not many, but there also black and sway calmly.

after reading the title all I can picture is

cube3v.jpg

Here is what I wrote in Notepad whilst doing it. I remember my Mum doing this with me some years ago but totally forgot about it.
Haven't looked at the analysis yet.

Small cube.
On the ground
it's got a door on it, but only one. No windows. It's surrounded by palm trees and an immaculate lawn.

The ladder is lying on top of the cube, either end is hanging off one side of the cube. It's metal, and long. It glistens temptingly in the sun. If I was a crow, I'd be having a sex wee no doubt.

The storm is directly over the cube, but quickly disappears to the right and out of sight.

The horse is dead. Lying right under one palm tree. It is staring at me, with its vacant dead eyes. Flys toil around it eagerly. Death is a common thing, it happens. I am not moved.

The flowers are positioned around the cube, in a circle. Totally emcompassing the cube. It's a bit creepy, if I'm honest.

So, apparently I don't believe in my self and my ambition is stifled at best, and is non existent at worse. I'm not insecure though, but the ambition bit is possibly accurate.
I have no worries, and the ones I do are short lived? Seems accurate.
My girlfriend is close to me, but I'm concerned that it's dead? I guess I have doubts about our relationship lasting and it may be slightly superficial.
I'm going to have lots of children though, and keep them around me? That'll be nice.

It's one of those things, you can fit the explanations into your reality very easily. It's quite cool though.

Too tired to do this now, but I though it was about that show with the voice over that goes

"will you be able to do xyz, and will you be able to do it...... IN THE CUBE"

Describe the cube. What does it look like? Where is it (in the sky on the ground)? Is it big? Is there anything of particular interest about it? Think about it in detail and spend a few moments doing so.

---------------------------------------------------------------
it's made of glass and is the size of the average green house but it's like a diamond shape as it is on a point

it is a wooden ladder, leaning on an internal wall

The cube is on the ground, about 3 meters tall and has a chrome finish.

The ladder is lent up against one side of the cube and is slightly taller.

The storm is inside the cube.

The horse is reared up standing on its hind legs next to the cube.

The flowers are in a vase on top of the cube. I feel they need watering, they’re in desert after all.

Small, red transparent cube on the floor. Ladder on top of it with the horse climbing it with flowers in its mouth.

Oh, the storm was inside the cube...

Right.

MY CUBE:
Fairly small transparent cube which is on the floor.

MY LADDER:
The ladder is on top of the cube pointing upward leaning ever so slightly yet it still remains up on its own with no support.

MY STORM:
The storm is like a maelstrom taking up the entire sky swirling above the cube and ladder with the eye centred directly above the tip of the ladder.

MY HORSE:
The horse was climbing up the ladder, about half way up. It was a cartoon horse not a real horse.

MY FLOWERS:
I had every coloured flower imaginable and it spread all across the floor so there was no more desert to be seen. They appeared to be cartoon flowers and not real ones.

It is a little bit like me... Especially the worry of this big maelstrom above me that is the end of my PhD!!!!!!!!!!

MY CUBE:
Small floating glass cube

MY LADDER:
Ladder floating behind the cube. Very close, maybe a box to be put up the ladder?

MY STORM:
Dark clouds, light rain and no winds.

MY HORSE:
Horse is floating beside the cube and the ladder

MY FLOWERS:
A long flower pot, as soon as it appeared i saw the horse eating the flowers...WTF?
I think im insecure, depressed mad but with a clear head with no worrys. Also my horse eats my flowers. So im going to have a lover that eats my children? oh failure.

Written in notepad as I read each step...

The cube is frickinghuge! Its 4 mile square and is floating 5 miles in the air as if suspended from the wings of angels. It appears to be made from a substance similar to mercury.

The ladder is lying on the ground. It is 3foot in length and made of bamboo

An electrical storm hovers in the distance moving eastward. The lightning flashes reflect off of the mercury like cube that hovers above me. The ladder, well, its still on the ground.

Ah, a horse. It looks like Mr Ed but not in a coffin, and it has piercing blue eyes. The horse is about 4 meters from the ladder. I feel strangely aroused by the horse.

The flowers are attached to the horse's scrotum. They look like lillies, but i am no botanist and cannot say that with 100% confidence. I feel non-plussed about them. They might add to the sexual experience I hope to have with the Mr Ed lookalike.
