Dont think you will see much if any difference between the gulftown & non SB I7s clock for clock as I ran this benchmark a few months ago when there was another thread about it in general hardware & if I remember correctly most of the tests only used 1 or 2 cores (video encoding may have used 4). If I have time will run it this evening & check cpu usage but remember thinking to myself at the time the benchmark needed updating as it was from 2007. I even got updated versions of the individual pieces of software (which are all open source) to see if that would make it use all of the cores but I couldn't get it to work (don't really know anything about software programming so not surprising but gave it a go anyway).

@Jeffy B Yer i just upgraded to the SB from a 920 as i do a lot of video encoding and thats where these chips are really powerful.

@Someone I did notice this benchmark is not massivly cpu intensive but it does give you a quick overall score

Are you backing out of having ago :)

I gotta admit, the sandys were tempting, but then i thought nahh, sod it stick with what i have. Prefer to have the option of dual x16 pcie for multiple gpu's, i do like my sli setups.:D

i was keeping my eye on the widget though and it didnt stress above 60% on the multitasking, the first was single thread and the second was only running about 40%. whats that all about, i thought this should stress all cores to the max to find accuracy between chips, dunno baffling me

I am running a Core i7 930 @ 3.80GHz, GPU is a GTX480 running at stock. RAM is 12GB DDR3 @ 1448MHz.
