Nice one, much better review that the IGN one (which displays almost a contempt for graphic novels/comic books).

Cheers - got to agree with you, also giving it a low sound score for having "New York Generic" voices seems strange for a game set in New York with perfect voice work.

However the 360 version should still be out this friday

Its deffo out on friday, we have them in work now and a copy is sitting on my desk. Ill give it a go and report back tonight :)

Anyone know that price comparison site which i think was set up primarily for DVD's but you can also use it for games. You put in the name (eg The Darkness) and it'll come back with a ton of results and you can pick the cheapest one...

had mine on pre-order however with the impending postal strike this Friday, I have cancelled and am now picking up from the high street. I will have to pay a few quid more but at least I will have it on release day.

Bit of a quixk review based on what ive plated so far. Ive done a bit both online and single player, obviously on the 360.

Single player seems to run nice and smooth, so hats off to he devs for that. Again with the targeting system, you can sit and shoot someone in the arm 4 or 5 time and they will get back up again and return fire, but a headshot and they are down first go, and a chest shot usually takes 2-3 rounds. Execution mode is brilliant, you just sneak up behind someone and fire and he shoots the person in the leg to drop them to the floor then headshots them, really sweet to watch.

Ive only just got round to getting the 'darkness powers', but they seem pretty cool, its a pretty different touch on a game which to me feels reltively similar to play to Max Payne 2, only without the bullet time.

The lip sync on the cut scenes is diabolical, id really expect better of a game of this budget/hype, they really didnt bother doing this very well, and considering your watching a lot of clips, you really do notice.

Online is a scream. You can be a normal person or one of the mutant things, the mutatnts are small and fast, but dont have any guns, wheeas the normals people have guns therefore can kill from a longer range. Its reasonably fast paced to play, but not too fast paced, its keep you on your feet but its not like playing Quake.

Its a very interesting take on what could have just been another mafia hitman game. Its not what i expected at all, but its certainly a reasonably nice surprise (i expected something similar to gears of war).

Overall its seems like a realitively good fun game and is definately worth a go. Personally im going to wait for the PS3 version as i prefer the controller, but the 360 is good on live and runs very well in single player, so no reason to not get it on either consoles really.

Just skimmed over the review on IGN. It got 7.7 on PS3 and 7.8 on 360. Sketchy frame rates apparantly let the PS3 version down.
