The Darkness

Started playing it last night, its good fun, originally I thought the Darkness powers would be quite gimmicky but there not at all. I do find my self using them more than i should just to look cool rather than going for the easy pistol shot to head. Does anyone else just use one pistol/smg one at a time? I found it much better that way just use one and then switch over to the other hand when you reload so you fire constantly only stopping when both run out of ammo. Quite useful for some of the big fire fights.
Not tried it mp on the PS3 yet i will do sometime today though

MP very laggy for me too....

Cant play SP - too scared and im only at graveyard

Please can someone confirm /possibly a mini spoiler/ - do i fight monsters at any point?

Yes you fight monsters/zombies ...

Almost done the game now, just finished the last bit where u teleport back to the WW1 scenes...now back to NY to finish the game off.

Love the game, especially the interactive bits..some of these characters are quite funny with the stuff they come out with. Didnt realise how much swearing there is in the game lol. But all in all a very good game, some bits quite scary tbh...mind u not as scary as Condemned though but still a thoroughly enjoyable game nonetheless.

Had a busy weekend so i've just got back to it. Just finished "the first part of the game" and got the achievement etc. I've got used to the movement and gunplay now and its not as much of an issue. Everything else more than makes up for it though. The darkness powers aren't just a gimmick and they really add to the game in a great way. Gunners are cool :D

Definately in my top 5 360 games! Probably top 3.

Completed it yesterday, first game in a while ive immediately wanted to replay on a harder setting, last part was pure carnage! The emotional final scene was a nice touch too, wonder if we'll see a darkness 2 at some point??

Understandable

Some people really need to give spoiler warnings :p
Yeah, it drives me mad sometimes. The amount of people who have spoiled Condemned is unbelievable, for that reason I am staying away from this. I only ever scan for my own name :P.

No spoilers in this post :)

Wise choice Nokkon. I played it without knowing a jot what it's like beforehand, and it really paid off. The story is one of the most amazing narratives I've seen in a game and it shames even games like Half Life 2.

Yeah, I followed it from the start but as it got closer and closer I became less impressed with what I was seeing, but it would appear I had no need to worry. I have heard a lot of good things about the Narrative so that's great. Hopefully it comes tomorrow, but I'm thinking Wednesday.

Should I get this on PS3 or Xbox 360?
Whichever's cheapest.

Personally I would go 360 purely because of the control pad, plus the addition of Achievement points are nice.

Alternatively, I think you get dedicated servers online on the PS3 version, but for me SP is always more important than MP.

from that comparison i thought the ps3 version certainly looked better in the car sections. Xbox360 looks faded and less colourful and ps3 looks like it has a little more detail.

The xbox's colour palette changes throughout the game. Its weird. Also could be the way they were set up.

Not to mention the er, lack of anti-aliasing, motion blur and frequent slowdowns on the PS3 :p Those are huge factors in deciding which version is better. (seeing as it all comes down to graphics)
